The Catholic Gospel reading for April 18, 2026 (Saturday of the Second Week of Easter) is:

---

📖 Gospel: Gospel of John 6:16–21

> When it was evening, the disciples of Jesus went down to the sea,
embarked in a boat, and went across the sea to Capernaum.
It had already grown dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.
The sea was stirred up because a strong wind was blowing.
When they had rowed about three or four miles,
they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat,
and they began to be afraid.
But he said to them, “It is I. Do not be afraid.”
They wanted to take him into the boat,
but the boat immediately arrived at the shore
to which they were heading.

✨ Reflection (short)

This passage highlights trust in Jesus even amid fear and uncertainty. When life feels turbulent, His presence brings peace and direction—even if it comes in unexpected ways.

The Gospel for April 17, 2026 (Friday of the 2nd Week of Easter the 📖 Gospel: John 6:1–15

> Jesus went across the Sea of Galilee.
A large crowd followed him, because they saw the signs he was performing on the sick.
Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat down with his disciples.
The Jewish feast of Passover was near.

When Jesus raised his eyes and saw that a large crowd was coming to him,
he said to Philip, “Where can we buy enough food for them to eat?”
He said this to test him, because he himself knew what he was going to do.

Philip answered him, “Two hundred days’ wages worth of food would not be enough
for each of them to have a little.”
One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to him,
“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish;
but what good are these for so many?”

Jesus said, “Have the people recline.”
Now there was a great deal of grass in that place.
So the men reclined, about five thousand in number.

Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks,
and distributed them to those who were reclining,
and also as much of the fish as they wanted.

When they had had their fill, he said to his disciples,
“Gather the fragments left over, so that nothing will be wasted.”
So they collected them, and filled twelve wicker baskets with fragments
from the five barley loaves that had been more than they could eat.

When the people saw the sign he had done, they said,
“This is truly the Prophet, the one who is to come into the world.”
Since Jesus knew that they were going to come and carry him off to make him king,
he withdrew again to the mountain alone.

✨ Reflection (short)

This Gospel shows how God can multiply even the smallest offering. The boy’s five loaves and two fish seemed insignificant, yet in Jesus’ hands, they became more than enough. It reminds us to offer what we have—no matter how small—and trust God to do the rest.

The Gospel for April 16, 2026 (Thursday of the 2nd Week of Easter 📖 Gospel: John 3:31–36

> The one who comes from above is above all.
The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things.
But the one who comes from heaven is above all.

He testifies to what he has seen and heard,
but no one accepts his testimony.
Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy.

For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God.
He does not ration his gift of the Spirit.

The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life,
but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God remains upon him.

---

✨ Reflection (short)

This passage highlights the authority of Jesus as coming from “above”—from God Himself. It invites us to trust in Him completely, recognizing that belief is not just intellectual but lived through obedience and openness to the Spirit.
