Anchored on the symbolical figure of the fish representing the celebration of the early Christian gathered together as Church, the ICHTHUS FRIENDS CHOIR continues the spirit of sharing and glorifying God thru songs of praises and serving the community thru Music Ministry. Having started as the first children’s choir of San Felipe Neri Parish in 1982, the group had for its ea
rly member selected children of cathecism classes held every Sunday at San Felipe Neri church in Mandaluyong. Young they might seem, this members bonded together and found joy in serving God thru their little voices. That for 23 years, they remained intact and singing the same dynamic tunes of worship and peace. With their dedication and devotion, the group had evolved and to be known as ICHTHUS ( a Greek acronym “Iesu Christu Theo Uus Soter”, meaning Jesus Christ, Only Son of God, Our Savior ) FRIENDS CHOIR. Biblically aligned with the commemoration of the multiplication of loaves and fish, the group celebrates their anniversary on the Sunday where the said gospel is being read. ICHTHUS Friends Choir renders Sunday Apostolate every 3:00 in the afternoon mass at the Divine Mercy Shrine (3:45 pm Children’s Mass at San Felipe Neri Parish Church from 1982-2008) under the choirmaster and founder Bro.
