Bacolod Carmel

Bacolod Carmel Welcome to our online home, where prayer and community meet. We invite you to journey with us in prayer and love.

Here we share moments of grace from our Carmelite life — the Eucharist, reflections, prayers, and stories that draw hearts closer to God. Carmel of God’s Love – Bacolod

The Carmel of Bacolod is a part of the Discalced Carmelite Order (OCD). Our vocation is rooted in Marian, Biblical, Prophetic, and Apostolic traditions, which we embody through a life of silence, simplicity, and prayer. The monast

ery was founded on May 13, 1946, by five Sisters from Jaro Carmel in Hacienda Carmen, Talisay, Negros Occidental. It was later formally relocated to Mandalagan, Bacolod, on October 14, 1949. This monastery is the third Carmelite monastery in the Philippines and is now part of a federation consisting of 23 Carmels. Currently, our community consists of 18 Sisters—13 cloistered and 5 externs—who are dedicated to prayer, sacrifice, and service. Our charism, which was named by our Foundress Mother Mary Louise, is the “Carmel of God’s Love.” This represents our mission of hidden intercession and our quiet witness to God’s mercy.
