Thank you for attending last Saturday's recollection. Please find here the Youtube Link of A Church that Walks with the Poor: a Reflection from Pope Leo’s Apostolic Exhortation Dilexi Te by Bishop Rolando Santos, CM

A summary:

Dilexi Te is about love and care for the poor. As Christians, we cannot regard the poor as a problem of the society because they are part of our family, they are one of us. The love of Christ is embodied in the love for the poor, in caring for the sick and the oppressed, and for those who are suffering, in opposing exclusion and violence, and treating them with dignity. Let’s not forget that Dilexi Te also means exercising charity, works of mercy, and working for equality and respect for all as we see the face of Christ in them.

The Recollection today shared to us by Bishop Rolly Santos is a reminder that the poor are at the heart of the Church, which means there is a close connection between the love of God and love for the poor. To turn away from the poor is to turn away from God.

Thank you for attending last Saturday's recollection. Please find here the Youtube link of The Courage to Hope by Fr. Manoling Francisco, SJ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_Ps3Bv69Lw

A summary:

In this current society that we are living in, we are riddled on how we can effectively hope. We learned that hope is not optimism or wishful thinking but as a form of courage: to accept harsh realities, to continue loving and serving and to believe in God's victorious love.

“Our past wounds are a blessing because they enable us to expand our capacity to love."

What is the spirituality of hope? It is the courage to act with justice and compassion amidst what is happening all around us. More than ever, we are forced to be courageous to choose, act and do good for the benefit of our brothers, sisters, and countrymen. After all, we hope in Thee for us.

We wish you a blessed holiday ahead! See you all in 2026.

Thank you for attending our November recollection. Please find here the Youtube Link of Enlightening Hope: When the Heart Refuses to Give Up by Fr. Kenneth Centeno, CM. https://youtu.be/xVGk5HjYokc

A summary:
Hope is the seed of resurrection. It teaches us to see beyond our pain, expecting that God will bring forth something new.

Christian hope is an alternative path to day’s world. In communion, we refuse to let indifference break the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood. We must always listen to reflections of one and another to participate fully in being a synodal church.

Worldliness is an issue that has been on the news lately. The heart of corruption is corruption of the heart. When we don’t align our values to the Lord, we are clearly misguided.

We need to always remember that hope does not receive its energy from the immanence of the self. It does not have its center on the self. Rather, the hopeful are on their way towards the other. In hope, one places one’s trust in what exceeds the self. Hope originates in the transcendent.

We do not possess hope, it possesses us. So the challenge is to embody it and let it root in our hearts.

Thank you for attending last Saturday's recollection. Please find here the Youtube Link of Walking in Hope, Serving with Love: A Pilgrim of Mission and Charity' by Fr. Nelson Bisco.

A summary:

The context of the recollection is the perfect narrative for our country. While we cannot deny the incidence of poverty here in the Philippines, it only prompts us to do our part. We cannot turn our eyes away from them. And so, what can we offer them? Hope. Hope is the virtue of those who, facing difficulties, know how to set out with trust in the Lord.

Because Hope in the Lord never disappoints. He will set out to fulfill His promises to us. In the bible, they say that tribulations come but take heart because the Lord has overcome the world. And this hope will only become a reality if we allow God to work in us, with us, and through us. Hope and love need actions. And actions are a conscientious way of reaching out to people in difficult situations. We help them help themselves. In our communities, we must think of ways on how we can show compassion to the poor and vulnerable. After all, hope and love does not change the world. It changes people and then people change the world.

Thank you for attending last Saturday's recollection. Please find here the Youtube Link of Happy Fault by Fr. Joselito 'B**g' Sarabia, CM: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oABxYDLVHv8

A summary:

The recollection was a great session on the ‘SELF’ as rooted in the Lord.

Before everything else, we must remember that we have ontological dignity. It is in the inherent value and worth that we possess and is linked to the belief that we are made in the image of the Lord and we possess the unique capacity of reason and freedom.

We must uphold ourselves to the highest standard as we are in the likeness of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit so we always have a choice to recreate, reconnect and be complete once again when we fail or make mistakes. In compassion, include yourself.

When life throws us a curveball, we must always go back and remind ourselves to whom we belong. It’ll guide our actions and how we shape our own experiences.

Oftentimes, the need to define the self takes a downturn as we struggle to look for ourselves in all the wrong avenues. The struggle for self-validation, love, and connection. How then do we turn this crisis to an opportunity? The message is clear: Find foundation in your fault. Always look towards the story of the cross. A story of pain and love. Transformative love.

Love that is all about stability, commitment, duties and nurturance. By recognizing faith as the anchor, we are able to offer love and hope to our community. We are able to recreate, reconnect and be completed once again.
