A shared story and reflection by Sr. Mary Lynn while having a conversation with the 'lil one...

Boy: (holding the crucifix) what is this?
Me: It's Jesus.
Boy: Why is he so tiny?
Me: Because if it is big, I can't carry Him.
Boy:I want him big.
Then the teacher in...
Teacher: Because if it is big Sister can't carry it that's why it is small.
Boy: okayπŸ˜„

At ito ang napagnilayan ko...

Why is He so tiny? I want Him big.

β€œWhy is He so tiny?” the little boy asked,
β€œI want Him big,” with a heart so vast.
I smiled and said, β€œI can’t carry Him if He’s big,”
Not knowing his words would make my heart think.

Perhaps Jesus is small upon my chest,
But in my heart, may He grow without end;
For I need not carry Him by my own might...
Let Him be big, and let Him carry me through life.

Why do we have to honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus?

The visions of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647–1690), a French Visitation nun, between 1673 and 1675 in Paray-le-Monial, France.
Margaret Mary said that Jesus appeared to her several times, especially while she was praying before the Blessed Sacrament. In these apparitions, he:

Revealed his Sacred Heart as a symbol of his great love and mercy for humanity.

Showed her his Heart surrounded by a crown of thorns, with a cross above it and flames, representing his suffering love.

Asked her to promote a special devotion to his Heart to make reparation for the ingratitude, coldness, and sins of people, especially in the Eucharist.

27 December 1673: Jesus appeared and called her β€œthe beloved disciple of My Sacred Heart,” uniting her heart with his.

1674: He asked for frequent reception of the Eucharist, especially on the First Friday of each month, and for a Holy Hour of prayer.

June 1675 (the β€œgreat apparition”): During the octave of Corpus Christi, Jesus asked that a feast in honor of his Sacred Heart be celebrated on the Friday after Corpus Christi, as a day of reparation for human ingratitude.

Why we honor the Sacred Heart β€œaccording to Margaret’s vision”
In light of Margaret Mary’s revelations, the Church honors the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

As a sign of Christ’s infinite love, shown especially in his Passion and the Eucharist.

To make reparation for sins and for the indifference or contempt shown to Jesus in the sacrament of his Body and Blood.

To encourage practices such as First Friday devotions, Holy Hour, and the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, which flow directly from the requests Jesus gave to Margaret Mary.

Matthew 26:26–28
"Take and eat; this is my body... Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins."
