Yesterday, Sunday, October 4, we welcomed and installed our new Redemptorist Youth Missionaries—young hearts who have said yes to the call to serve, to accompany one another, and to become instruments of God’s love.
The homily reminded us of something beautiful and courageous:
Do not be afraid to love.
Do not be afraid to get hurt.
And do not be afraid to love again. ❤️
Because sometimes, loving means taking risks. It means giving our time, opening our hearts, serving even when it becomes difficult, and continuing even when we feel tired or disappointed. The hurts we experience along the way do not have to be the end of our story. With God, even our wounds can become part of our growth, our strength, and eventually, our success in the mission.
And yesterday also marked another beautiful beginning for our young people.
Starting this Sunday, the 9:00 AM Mass at Divino Amor Church will be a full Youth Mass, creating a special space where our young people can actively participate, serve, lead, share their gifts, and discover more deeply what it means to belong to the Church. 🙏❤️‍🔥
We hope that this will open more doors and create more opportunities for the youth—not only to participate, but to realize that they have an important place in the life and mission of the Church.
Our youth servers, missionaries, volunteers, musicians, readers, and young leaders are not simply the future of the Church.
They are the Church today. 🌱
And what they do today can help shape the Church of tomorrow.
Through their courage, creativity, energy, and willingness to serve, they can inspire other young people, reach those who feel disconnected, bring hope to those who are struggling, and become a voice for a world that needs more compassion, faith, and love.
Perhaps change does not always begin with something big.
Sometimes, it begins with a young person saying,
“Yes, Lord. I am willing to serve.”
May we continue to give our youth opportunities to lead, to make mistakes, to learn, to grow, to get hurt, to heal, and most importantly, to love and serve again.
Because the wounds along the journey do not mean we have failed. Sometimes, they are proof that we dared to love—and with God, those wounds can become stories of strength, growth, and success. ❤️
To our new Redemptorist Youth Missionaries: welcome to the mission!
May you never be afraid to love.
Never be afraid to serve.
Never be afraid to dream.
And never be afraid to begin again.
Your YES today can become someone else’s reason to believe tomorrow. ✨
Let us walk with our youth, trust them, give them opportunities, and allow them to show us how God can use their young hearts to make the Church—and the world—a better place.
One youth. One YES. One mission. ❤️‍🔥
