Similary, it is important to not ascribe too little power and influence to Satan.

To do so is to play into his hands.

You must never believe the lie that Satan does not exist; that would deny the constant teaching of the Church.

Nor can you resort to the comedic phrase, “The devil made me do it.”

That would deny your free will and your role in your sinful acts.

It would also be an obstacle to repentance and reconciliation.

(Mateo 14:22-33)

Unya gipakayak ni Jesus ang mga tinun-an sa sakayan ug gipauna niya ngadto sa tabok sa lanaw, ug iyang gipalakaw ang mga tawo. Tapos niya palakta ang mga tawo, mitungas siya nga nag-inusara sa usa ka bungtod aron pag-ampo. Ug sa pagkagabii na, si Jesus nag-inusara didto. Niadtong tungora ang sakayan didto na sa lawod, gikuso-kuso sa mga balod, kay ang hangin sungsungon man.

Sa may mga alas tres sa kaadlawon, si Jesus mitungha kanila nga naglakaw sa tubig. Sa pagkakita sa mga tinun-an kaniya nga naglakaw sa tubig, nanghadlok sila pag-ayo. "Anaay multo!" miingon sila, ug naninggit sila sa kalisang.

Si Jesus miingon kanila, "Ayaw kamo kahadlok! "Ako kini!"

Unya si Pedro miingon, "Ginoo, kon ikaw kana, palakta ako sa tubig nganha kanimo."

Dali ngari," mitubag si Jesus. Busa mikawas si Pedro sa sakayan ug milakaw sa tubig ngadto kang Jesus. Apan sa pagkamatikod niya sa hangin, nahadlok siya ug misugod pagkalunod. "Ginoo, luwasa ako!" misinggit siya.

Dihadiha gidawat siya ni Jesus ug gibira ug miingon si Jesus kaniya, "Pagkadiyotay sa imong pagtuo! Nganong nagduhaduha ka man?"

Ug nanakay silang duha sa sakayan, ug milurang ang hangin. Ang mga tinun-an nga didto sa sakayan misimba kang Jesus, ug miingon, "Ikaw gayod ang Anak sa Dios!"

A word of caution is necessary when speaking of Satan.

It is important to avoid ascribing too much power and influence to him.

You must never fall victim to the notion that Satan is somehow equal to God in power and authority.

God is Creator; Satan is creature, Both Satan’s power and the ability to exercise his power are limited by God and are permitted only to the degree that they can serve God’s will.

God can, and does, use Satan’s evil acts to bring about His glorious plan — if you let Him.

Good or bad, it all falls within God’s permissive will; it is all able to be redeemed by God.

(Mateo 14:13-21)

Sa pagkadungog ni Jesus sa balita nga gipatay si Juan, mibiya siya
niadtong dapita sakay sa usa ka sakayan ug miadto nga nag-inusara sa usa ka dapit nga awaaw.

Nakabalita niini ang mga tawo, ug namiya sila sa ilang mga lungsod, ug milakaw sila aron pag-agpas kaniya.

Si Jesus mikawas sa sakayan ug sa pagkakita niya sa dakong pundok sa mga tawo, giabot siyag dakong kaluoy kanila, ug giayo niya ang ilang mga masakiton.

Niadtong hapona ang iyang mga tinun-an miduol kaniya ug miingon, “Hapon na kaayo, ug awaaw kining dapita.

Busa palakta ang mga tawo ug paadtoa sila sa mga balangay aron mamalit ug pagkaon.”

Si Jesus mitubag, “Dili kinahanglan nga manlakaw pa sila; kamo mismo ang maghatag kanilag pagkaon.”
Sila mitubag, “Lima ra ka pan ug duha ka isda ang among dala.”

Si Jesus miingon, “Dad-a ngari.”

Unya iyang gipalingkod sa kasagbotan ang mga tawo ug gikuha niya ang lima ka buok pan ug duha ka buok isda; unya miyahat siya sa langit ug nagpasalamat sa Dios.

Ug gipikaspikas niya ang mga pan ug gihatag ngadto sa mga tinun-an, ug gihatag usab kini sa mga tinun-an ngadto sa mga tawo.

Nangaon ang tanan ug nangabusog, Unya gihipos sa mga tinun-an ang sobra nga nakapuno ug napulog-duha ka bukag.

Lima ka libo ang gidaghanon sa mga tawo nga nangaon, walay labot ang mga babaye ug sa mga bata.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗔𝗡 "𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗟 𝗘𝗬𝗘?"

The evil eye 𝙄𝙎 𝘼 𝙃𝙐𝙈𝘼𝙉 𝙇𝙊𝙊𝙆 believed to cause harm to humans, animals, and trees.

The damage may be minor or grave, e.g., disease, injury, or even death.

The “evil eye” is a specific type of magical curse and has its roots in magical thinking and superstition.

Symptoms of illness caused by the evil eye 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙚❟ 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙖𝙬𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜❟ 𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙘𝙪𝙥𝙨❟ 𝙫𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜❟ 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧.

𝙄𝙩 𝙤𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣❟ particularly 𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙧𝙨❟ and 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 to the demonic.

In Pilipino, the word “𝙉𝘼𝘽𝘼𝙏𝙄”❟ “𝙉𝘼𝙐𝙎𝙊𝙂”❟ “𝙉𝘼𝘽𝘼𝙇𝙀𝙎” is a form of the “evil eye”.

The fearful see spiritual warfare through eyes of apprehension.

They imagine that any attention given to demons will increase the likelihood of a spiritual attack.

They believe that in some way spiritual warfare is a contagion that will spread if they acknowledge it as real.

Others think that thedomain of spiritual warfare belongs only to the clergy; in doing so, they sell themselves and their baptismal rights short.

Others are afraid that they are not up to the task, so they shy away from the battle and suffer the consequences.

Fear and false humility play right into Satan’s hand.

"Your fear feeds Satan and causes him to become bolder and stronger.
Do not fear the evil snares of the enemy.
In the end, he will be obliged to recognize that he is powerless where a soul that is very dear to Jesus is concerned.
Therefore be calm."

𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗗𝗢 𝗪𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘𝗦?

The protection from a real curse can only be supernatural or divine in provenance.

a. The first protection is on the level of the soul; in this case, 𝙃𝘼𝘽𝙄𝙏𝙐𝘼𝙇 𝙎𝘼𝙉𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙁𝙔𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙂𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙀.

The person should, therefore, not be in a state of sin, specifically mortal sin.

Now grace is restored in the soul through repentance and the sacrament of
reconciliation.

b. The second protection is on the level of mind and will, and here 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙋𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙏𝙄𝘾𝙀 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙇𝙄𝙁𝙀 𝙊𝙁 𝙑𝙄𝙍𝙏𝙐𝙀 - prudence, temperance, fortitude, and justice strengthened by the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity play a crucial role.

The virtues of faith, hope, and charity are fortified by actual grace received through regular reverent reception of the sacraments and development of a consistent prayer life.

The devout use of the sacramentals of the Church dramatically aids in the protection of mind, body, and spirit.
