Christians firmly believe that God is the creator of the universe. God created the universe and everything within it including space, time, matter, and energy. Atheists often try to challenge this belief by asking, "If everything requires a creator, then who created God?" - as though this represents the Christian argument. However, this misrepresents the Christian position, making a strawman fallacy.
Christian apologists do not argue that ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฎ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฃ๐ requires a creator, as this would lead to an infinite chain of creators. We argue that ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฎ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐จ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐๐ญ๐๐จ๐ฉ requires a creator or a cause for its existence.
Both the Holy Scriptures and the modern scientific consensus affirm that the universe began to exist in the finite past. Since it had a beginning, it must have a cause or a creator, and we have strong and good reasons to believe that God is the source of its existence. On the other hand, God did not begin to exist, as He exists outside or beyond time. Therefore, God does not require a creator. The universe began to exist, but God has always existed. He is eternal, immutable, and the uncaused cause.
