JEWELRIES AND THE HOLY SCRIPTURES
It is an implied teachings in the Scriptures that the wearing of jewellery is contrary to the will of the Almighty . The apostle Paul admonishes us to dress ourselves “in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing” (1 Tim. 2:9). The wearing of ornaments of jewellery is a bid for attention not in keeping with Messianic self-forgetfulness.
In the book of Revelation two contrasting women are described — one representing Babylon (false religion), and another representing YHWH's true Assembly . It is interesting to notice how each of them is adorned.
Describing Babylon, we read in Revelation 17:4-5: “The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead a name was written: ‘Mystery, Babylon the Great, the mother of Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth” (NKJV).
The woman symbolizing Elohim’s true Assembly is described in Rev. 12:1 as “a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars” (NKJV).
Lastly, consider the following texts:
"Moreover Yahweh says: “Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, And walk with outstretched necks And wanton eyes, Walking and mincing as they go, Making a jingling with their feet, In that day Yahweh will take away the finery: The jingling anklets, the scarves, and the crescents; The headdresses, the leg ornaments, and the headbands; The perfume boxes, the charms, and the rings; The nose jewels, the festal apparel, and the mantles; The outer garments, the purses, "
