JEWELRIES AND THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

It is an implied teachings in the Scriptures that the wearing of jewellery is contrary to the will of the Almighty . The apostle Paul admonishes us to dress ourselves “in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing” (1 Tim. 2:9). The wearing of ornaments of jewellery is a bid for attention not in keeping with Messianic self-forgetfulness.

In the book of Revelation two contrasting women are described — one representing Babylon (false religion), and another representing YHWH's true Assembly . It is interesting to notice how each of them is adorned.

Describing Babylon, we read in Revelation 17:4-5: “The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead a name was written: ‘Mystery, Babylon the Great, the mother of Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth” (NKJV).

The woman symbolizing Elohim’s true Assembly is described in Rev. 12:1 as “a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars” (NKJV).

Lastly, consider the following texts:

"Moreover Yahweh says: “Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, And walk with outstretched necks And wanton eyes, Walking and mincing as they go, Making a jingling with their feet, In that day Yahweh will take away the finery: The jingling anklets, the scarves, and the crescents; The headdresses, the leg ornaments, and the headbands; The perfume boxes, the charms, and the rings; The nose jewels, the festal apparel, and the mantles; The outer garments, the purses, "

"THE SABBATH AND YOU"

Too many of us live at a frantic pace, trying desperately to stay on top of everything we need to get done. It's no wonder we feel out of touch with our spouses, our families and even our Creator. But did you know that our Almighty Yahweh offers a little-understood remedy for our hurried and harried lives?

This very Being who created the universe, including every one of us, did not leave us to grope in the dark to understand His intent for our lives. Rather, through inspiration, He caused His instruction and truth to be written down for us (2 Timothy 3:15-17; John 17:17). His revelation, the Holy Scriptures, tells us what we need to know about life's purpose, why we are here and where we are headed. Most important, it tells us how to live.

It tells us that thousands of years ago Elohim gave a people a set of laws, promising the recipients that they would be blessed if they obeyed them. "You shall walk in all the ways which Yahweh your Elohim has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you," He told them (Deuteronomy 5:33, emphasis added throughout).

The law YHWH revealed is summed up in the Ten Commandments. They are our basic guide for living, showing us how to have a proper relationship with our Creator and fellow man.

Mark 7:6-7 NKJV
" He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’"

Happy Sabbath day everyone!

Psalms 145:18 New King James Version

Yahweh is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

This verse mentions that our Almighty Father is closer to us if we call on Him in truth. It is also recorded in John 4:23, “When the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him.” From this verse, we can see that our Elohim likes us to worship Him in spirit and in truth. He doesn’t care whether our prayers are long or short, or with beautiful words; rather, He cares whether we speak the words within our hearts to Him.

However, many times we fail to make it in the prayer. For example, sometimes we are too busy to pray carefully and just muddle through with one or two sentences; or we just recite some verses to praise Hashem in our prayers, and all of these are not the words within our hearts; sometimes we pray and say that we are willing to abide by the Messiah's teachings, but we always act according to our thoughts when encountering matters.

May we all be blessed and guided by the words of our Supreme Creator of the universe. Be a blessing to others my dear friends. Shalom!
