On this blessed Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and the World Day of the Sick, we come together as one parish family to honor our Heavenly Mother and to pray in a special way for the sick and suffering.

“𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙄𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.”

May Mama Mary wrap us in her mantle of love, strengthen those who are weak, comfort those who are in pain, and renew our trust in God’s healing grace.

Our Lady of Lourdes, health of the sick and refuge of sinners, pray for us. 🙏🌹

With grateful hearts, we thank the Lord for the successful conduct of the Bloodletting Activity of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes, held at the St. James the Apostle Parish Formation Center, with the generous participation of 30 voluntary blood donors 💙

We extend our sincere appreciation to all our blood donors whose selfless act of charity has provided life-saving support to those in need. Your generosity is a true witness of Christian love expressed through service.

We likewise express our heartfelt gratitude to the Albuera Rural Health Unit, the Philippine Red Cross, and to all volunteers and partners for their dedication, professionalism, and generous service which greatly contributed to the success of this activity.

Through the loving intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lourdes, may the Lord continue to bless our donors, volunteers, and all those who will benefit from this life-giving gift. May our works of charity always lead us closer to Christ. 🙏🙏🙏

The Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes would like to inform all parishioners of the upcoming Annual Bloodletting Activity with the following details:

🗓 Date: February 7, 2026 (Saturday)
⏰ Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 NN
📍 Venue: Parish Formation Center
🤝 In partnership with Albuera Rural Health Unit and Philippine Red Cross

🩸 REQUIREMENTS FOR BLOOD DONORS

Those who wish to donate blood must meet the following requirements:

• At least one (1) valid ID
• Must be in good health condition
• Age: 18–60 years old
• Weight: 50 kg and above
• Blood Pressure: 90/60 to 160/100 mmHg
• Female donors: May donate 14 days after the last day of menstruation
• No alcohol intake within the last 12 hours
• Must have had at least 6–8 hours of quality sleep
• Medications will be assessed by the PRC physician
• Do NOT donate if recently exposed to any blood-borne infection
(e.g. HIV, Hepatitis B/C, Syphilis, Malaria)
• For those who have recently traveled locally or abroad, especially from areas with disease outbreaks, donation may be deferred depending on the length of stay in those areas.

Those who wish to donate blood are kindly requested to register at the parish office or send a message to this page.

𝐈 𝐀𝐌 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐈𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 | On March 25, 1858, on the sixteenth time that the Blessed Virgin appeared to Saint Bernadette Soubirous at the grotto cave of Massabielle, and after much attempt that Bernadette made for the Lady in “full white with a blue sash” to reveal Her identity, She finally revealed Herself as the “Immaculate Conception”, the One who is conceived without original sin.

Hence, the apparitions of Our Lady in Lourdes is highly regarded as the celestial confirmation of this Dogma we are joyfully celebrating today, which was promulgated to the Universal Church by Pope Pius IX in 1854, four years before the first recorded apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes on February 11, 1858.

The Immaculate Conception is the Principal Patroness of the Philippines.

Into thy hands, O Mary Immaculate, we entrust our beloved country, the Philippines, the “Pueblo Amante de María”.

𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐘! || On this day, 132 years ago, His Excellency, Archbishop Bernardino Nozaleda, OP, DD, who served as the 25th Archbishop of Manila, finally gave his approval for a Sodality under the patronage of Our Lady of Lourdes to be Canonically Erected in the first Capuchin Church in Intramuros.

Don Regino García y Basa, a known botanist at the time, accompanied by several of his companions who shared the same dedication and devotion to the Virgin of Lourdes, requested Padre Berardo de Cieza, OFMCap., for a Confraternity to be erected at the Church of the Capuchins, hence, urging the Capuchin Superior to write a formal letter seeking the Archbishops approval dated on May 23, 1893. This humble request got its approval after 4 months, bearing the formal title of “LA COFRADÍA DE LA INMACULADA CONCEPCION DE LA SANTISÍMA VIRGEN MARÍA DE LOURDES”.

This Confraternity is responsible for propagating the messages and devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes within the country. Our Confraternity saw early success in that mission, hence our elevation from Confraternity to Archconfraternity by Pope Saint Pius X, through his encyclical entitled “Manilensium Archiepiscopus” dated on August 27, 1910. Our Archconfraternity is under the watchful care of the Philippine Capuchin Province of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Today, no less than 500 Confraternities affiliated to us nationwide, with thousands of members, are still doing the best we can to keep our mission alive amidst personal obstacles, putting our confidence and trust to the Immaculate Mother of God, whose maternal gaze and powerful intercession continues to strengthen us and restores our hope in times of oppressions.

May our dearest Mother and Patroness, Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, bless each one of us in all our endeavors as members of this National Religious Organization — the first of its kind here in the Philippines — so that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ, Her Son.

Through her humility and obedience, God’s plan of redemption was fulfilled. As we honor her nativity, let us entrust ourselves to her maternal intercession and strive to follow her example of faith, hope, and love. 🙏🌹

Saint Pius X, the 257th Pope of the Catholic Church, whose feast day we celebrate today, plays such a significant role in our Archconfraternity, as it is under his Papacy that our Confraternity was elevated to the rank of “Archconfraternity” through his letter, “Manilensium Archiepiscopus”.

Until this very day, we are the only Archconfraternity of Lourdes outside France. This unique gift bestowed upon our members of the past, the present and the generations to come, further attest to how strong and widespread our devotion is to the Immaculate Virgin of Lourdes.
