We often plan our lives as if we are in control, but James 4 reminds us that we are just a v***r that appears for a little while and then vanishes. This series explores what it looks like to move from "practical atheism" to a life of active surrender—letting God lead our plans, our actions, and our wealth.

Instead of building our own earthly empires, we are called to build His Kingdom. Take a moment to swipe through and reflect on how you can anchor your life in the will of the Lord today.

Ambition isn't the problem; presumption is. It is great to have goals whether that is mapping out a 5-year plan, launching a small business, or reaching financial milestones with your family. But James 4:15 reminds us to hold those plans with open hands.

Is your heart fully in it, or are you just "friend-zoning" God? đź’”

In James 4:4-12, we’re reminded that real faith isn’t just a Sunday hobby—it’s a life-changing devotion. To be devoted means to be "set apart," and that starts with where we give our time, our love, and our loyalty.

How do we live this out?

A Whole Heart: Demolishing the idols (money, status, or even good things) that take God’s place.

A Submissive Heart: Trading our pride for 100% obedience. When we submit to God and resist the devil, the enemy has no choice but to flee.

A Sanctified Heart: Drawing near to Him so He can draw near to us. It’s about "willing one thing"—purity.

Let’s stop trying to serve two masters. God doesn’t want a piece of your heart; He wants the whole thing.

Reflection Question: What is currently competing for your devotion this week? Let’s talk about it in the comments. 👇

Favoritism is a "Gospel denial" because it suggests Christ’s blood didn't pay the same price for everyone. True faith doesn’t just look up at God; it looks across at others with radical equality.

If we listen to the Word but don't act, we are only cheating ourselves. James 1:22 calls us to be "Poets of the Word" active creators of a life of faith.

Is your faith moving your feet?

We often think faith is just something we hold in our heads while we’re comfortable. We read the Word, we agree with it, and we feel good. But the Bible tells us that "faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead" (James 2:17).

Leo’s story is all of us. It’s easy to "love your neighbor" from the couch. It’s much harder when it’s raining outside and requires us to leave our comfort zone.

True faith isn't just a feeling; it’s a choice to act on what we believe. The victory isn't in being perfect it's in letting God's love move us to serve others. Don't just believe it... live it!
