"Who do you say I am?" Jesus posed this question to his disciples halfway into his ministry, and he continues to do so to every believer following him since then. Who do we say Jesus is? How do we see him, and how do we relate to him? By knowing this, we can then say how our relationship to Jesus Christ affects our daily lives. This series takes a deeper look into the seven "I am" sayings of Jesus in the Gospel of John, with the aim of knowing Christ more and what he has done.

In the final hours of Jesus' earthly life, he makes the second of two final claims: " I am the true vine." For the original disciples, it was a direct contrast to the Old Testament reference to Israel as "the vine." What then, does this claim mean for us, especially for a country not well-known for grapes?
