“Breathed into New Life, Sent in Peace”
This Sunday, we celebrate the day that commemorates when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles at Pentecost. This Sunday, we are reminded though the gospel of John 20:19–23 that even behind closed doors, we are found and met with peace. We see ourselves in those who once gathered in fear, yet were transformed by a presence that spoke calmly into their uncertainty. We are invited to receive that same peace, one that settles our hearts and restores our courage. As a community, we recognize that we are not defined by our fears, but by the breath of new life given to us. In this moment, we begin to understand that we are being renewed from within, called into something greater.
As we continue this reflection, we are reminded that we are not only comforted, but also sent. We are entrusted with a mission to carry peace, forgiveness, and hope into the world around us. Through the Spirit breathed into us, we are empowered to live boldly and love deeply. Together, we discover that we are part of a living movement, guided and sustained by a divine presence. And so, we go forward as one, bringing light where there is darkness, and peace where there is unrest.
