TITLE: FISHERS OF MEN
Description: As a Christian, one of the terms Jesus calls us is “Fishers of Men”. As fishers of men, our mission is to reach the lost with the help of the gospel and lead them back to Him. The artwork depicts the Bible as the boat, representing the Kingdom of Christ and his followers. In the course of 500 years, Christianity spread throughout the whole archipelago, yet there are those who seem hard to be reached.
This is when Jesus gave us our mission as stated in Matthew 4:19. “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men”. We are tasked to go to the outermost parts of the world and make disciples. The art also shows that the church, composed of different kinds of people, is thriving and spreading love and kindness especially with the involvement of the youth.
The art highlights a person reaching out and pulling the girl closer to God. At the sides are people who are lost. Indeed, they are still too many, and maybe they are just waiting for us to pull them back to Him. Throughout the years, we persevere in the hopes of bringing back more people to God. We may feel tired, ashamed, discouraged, and even reproached by others, let us always remember that this is our mission, it is part of being a Christian. Let’s not give up. Continue reaching out. We can do this with God. Padayon lang! Together we can do this. We are fishers of men!
