JULY: Arise and Build a BIBLE-ROOTED COMMUNITY

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8 NIV)

The Bible is the bedrock of our faith. If we are to remain unmoved by the avalanche of false doctrines... if we are to stand strong against the storms of life... if we are to grow and mature and bear fruit in this life... if we are to finish the race and reach the hereafter, we need to be rooted in the Bible. And by rooted, it means that we not just read it, but that we meditate on it, understand it, believe it, and most importantly, obey it. So, let’s spend more time reading and studying God’s Word, allowing it to saturate our mind and take root in our heart so that our every word, every thought, and every action would be guided by it.

APRIL: Arise and Build a CROSS-REDEEMED PEOPLE

May I never boast of anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world is crucified to me and I to the world. (Galatians 6:14 NCB)

The world tells us that wealth, fame, and power are the things we must take pride in. But the Bible tells us otherwise: to make the cross our pride. But why? Why should the very symbol of shame be our pride? Because it is not just any cross we boast of. We boast in the cross of Christ. We boast in what Christ has done—and suffered—for us. We boast in His love and His grace, so unfathomable and so undeserved. We boast in His gift of salvation, of life eternal. But it doesn’t end there. Accepting the benefits of the cross requires that we share in His sufferings... that we die to ourselves and be crucified with Him.

September: A Persistent Hope

There are times when what we are hoping for would not come to pass as easily as we want it to. It is during these times that we ought to pray… and pray… and pray. Even though the answer is far from sight, even when God does not seem to hear, and even when we no longer have the faith to believe. We ought to pray and persist in believing that God hears, God listens, God answers. Because He does.
