If you’re not obeying God’s command through Paul in
“RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH”

Text: 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJB) – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Introduction

The command to “rightly divide” is not optional; it is God’s command through Paul.

Failure to obey this command leads to shame, confusion, and disobedience.

Many today misuse the Bible because they ignore dispensational divisions.

I. The Command to Study (v. 15a)

1. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God” – not man-pleasing but God-pleasing.

2. Studying requires diligence, effort, and submission to God’s Word.

3. Without study, you will depend on tradition, feelings, or false teachers.

II. The Workman’s Responsibility (v. 15b)

1. A workman builds carefully on the foundation of Christ (1 Cor. 3:10-11).

2. The opposite is a careless worker – one who causes confusion and destruction.

3. God wants workers who are not ashamed at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

III. The Key: Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth (v. 15c)

1. To rightly divide means to cut straight – recognize God’s dispensations.

Israel vs. the Church

Law vs. Grace

Earthly promises vs. Heavenly calling

2. Wrong division leads to:

Mixing Law and Grace

Preaching Israel’s Kingdom Gospel instead of Paul’s Gospel of Grace

Confusion in salvation, doctrine, and practice

3. Right division gives clarity, stability, and truth.

IV. The Warning – 🚨THIS IS YOU❗️

1. If you don’t rightly divide, you are:

Disobedient to God’s command

Ashamed as a workman

A cause of confusion to others

2. God holds us accountable for handling His Word faithfully.

3. Neutrality is not an option – you are either obeying or disobeying.

Conclusion

The Word of God must be studied and divided correctly.

Failure to obey 2 Timothy 2:15 means you fall into error and shame.
Let us be approved workmen, obeying God through Paul, rightly dividing the Word

principle which will surely bear good fruit. It is . . .
opening the eyes of the blind;
unstopping the ears of the deaf;
loosing the tongue of the dumb;
giving hands and feet to the maimed and lame.

The Lord knows na araw-araw kang masasaktan, madidisappoint at ma-o-offend ng kapwa mo kaya He said to forgive seventy times seven. ‘Wag ka ng magtaka kung bakit ka nagawang saktan ng kapwa mo-- hindi rin kasi siya perfect katulad mo.
And you know what, minsan, para makalaya tayo, kailangan may i-let go muna tayo. Examine yourself. What needs to be released in you? Is it anger? Grudge? Pain? Beloved, you have been chained by those things for too long already. It’s holding you back to love and give freely. God wants to help you. I know it is not that easy to forgive, pero mas mahirap naman kung patatagalin mo pa yung unforgiveness na kulungin ka.
