We live in the world today wherein there is so much fear, anger, a lot of confusion and a lot of questions especially about God. The recent shooting again in Zamboanga involving a student and involving youths again is so alarming. Grateful for the opportunity to teach students in this school about Bible lessons but what we are now seeing happening all around us involving young people involves a Bible lesson not simply to Pray More but for young people and students to learn to respond to a world that is full of violence while holding to godly character principles of truth, compassion, courage and hope.

We are called in the Bible to be people of peace. In John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. The Bible does not say we would not have troubles, we will and we all have to understand especially the young people that our response to all the troubles we will go through is not violenceā€¦ Matthew 5:9 ā€œBlessed are the peacemakers. Romans 12:21 ā€œDo not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good and Lastly in Micah 6:8 ā€œHe hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?ā€

We grieve with all those affected, for those who suffered, for those who have been hated and bullied but let us continue to pursue peace and continue praying. Leaving this text in John 13:34,35 Jesus is calling all of us to love one another. In a world that is divided by hatred and rebellion let us be recognized right away by our love.
