Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent.
A sacred season of reflection, repentance, and renewal.
Lent is the 40-day journey leading us closer to Easter. It is a time to return to God with humble hearts, to pray more deeply, love more intentionally, and live more faithfully.
On Ash Wednesday, we receive ashes on our foreheads as a sign of repentance and a reminder of our humanity: โFrom dust we came, and to dust we shall return.โ -Genesis 3:19. The ashes call us to conversion, to turn away from sin and turn back to God.
We fast and practice abstinence not simply to give something up, but to offer a sacrifice of faith. Through self-denial, we learn discipline. Through sacrifice, we grow in gratitude. Through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, we unite ourselves more closely to Christ.
May this Lenten season renew our hearts and strengthen our commitment to walk in humility, love, and purpose. ๐คโ๏ธ
