The Mirabilia Dei which started and first known as Betis Children’s Choir was founded by Mrs. Composed of young boys and girls from different barrios of Betis between the ages of 7 and 25, they are taught and trained to sing, and play different musical instruments for the purpose of promoting the word of God through singing and playing Liturgical Music. In 2006, under the musical supervision and d
irection of Msgr. Greg Canlas, they were able to sing in the Ordination ceremonies of the two bishops of Pampanga, Most Rev. Mallari, DD and Most Rev. Pablo Virgilio “Ambo” S. David, DD. They were also invited to sing and play as string orchestra during the 50th Anniversary of Most Rev. Paciano B. Aniceto, DD, “Apu Ceto”, Bishop of the Archdiocese of San Fernando, Pampanga. The Rondalla started in 2004 under Mr. Jess Laxamana (deceased) while the String Orchestra began in 2007 under Mr. Rodolfo Palma. A year after, 4 of its members applied for full scholarship and got accepted through the generous support of Sr. Mary Placid Abejo, OSB, Dean of the school of Music in St. Scolastica’s College, Manila, taking up Bachelor of Music Major in Music Education with (Violin, Viola, and Cello) Principal. Another 2 members were also accepted in the year 2010 and 2011 taking up the same course with (Viola and Double Bass) Principal, respectively. Fortunately, four of the Music scholars are already regular members of the Manila Symphony Orchestra and played in various places under the baton of Mr. Arturo MolinaThrough their knowledge and talent in Music, there are also some members who enjoyed and were granted scholarships from their chosen schools. They were 2 in Guagua National Colleges, who were both graduated now and have the privilege to have the scholarship through joining their College Choir and 1 in the University of the Assumption through their College Rondalla.
