Positibo ang Department of Public Works and Highways na aaprubahan ng National Economic and Development Authority ang P22.4-bilyong proyektong Cavite-Tagaytay-Batangas Expressway sa loob ng taong ito.

“It’s one of our priority projects. I think I’m confident we can get it [approved] soon, definitely within this year,” pahayag ni Public Works Secretary Mark Villar.

Sinabi ni Villar na siya ay direktang nakikipagtulungan kay NEDA Secretary Karl Chua upang mapabilis ang proseso ng pag-apruba para sa CTBEx project

Sakaling maaprubahan ng NEDA, ang panukalang CTBex project ay sasailalim sa Swiss Challenge.

Ang CTBEX ay isang 50.4-kilometrong expressway na magkokonekta sa Cavite, at Batangas, kabilang ang isang spur road patungong Tagaytay City, at magtatapos sa Nasugbu, at isa pang spur road papuntang Tuy, Batangas.

Ipinagkaloob ng gobyerno ang orihinal na proponent status para sa CTBEX patungong Metro Pacific Tollways South Corp. noong Hulyo 2018.

Tinitingnang paluluwagin ng CTBEX ang nasa 23,000 mga sasakyan araw-araw mula sa kalsada ng Cavite, Laguna, at Batangas.

Ang proyekto ay magsisimula sa Silang East Interchange ng Cavite-Laguna Expressway. Ito ay dadaan sa mga bayan ng Silang, Amadeo, Mendez, Alfonso, at lungsod ng Tagaytay sa Cavite, at Nasugbu sa Batangas.

Ang MPCALA Holdings Inc., isang subsidiary ng MPTC, ay itinatayo rin ang P35-bilyong Cavite-Laguna Expressway―isang four-lane, 47-kilometer closed-system toll expressway na kumokonekta sa Cavitex, at South Luzon Expressway.

Ang expressway ay magsisimula sa Cavitex sa Kawit, Cavite, at magtatapos sa SLEX-Mamplasan Interchange sa Biñan, Laguna.

Noong Oktubre 2019, binuksan ng MPCALA Holdings sa publiko ang Laguna segment ng Cavite Laguna Expressway.

Ang MPIC Group ang may hawak sa mga operasyon ng North Luzon Expressway, Subic-Tarlac Expressway, at Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway.
