There is a saying and it says
" A man without God , life comes lacking and if God without a man (followers) He is still God".
When a person lives without God, something is always missing no matter how much they have. He may have success, but no peace (Ecclesiastes 2:11) " everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind". He may have people, but no purpose (Jeremiah 17:5) " cursed is the one trusts in man". He may have religion, but no relationship (Matthew 7:23) " I never knew you".
A life without God is like a phone without a charger, it works for a while, but eventually it dies.
God created us to walk with Him. Genesis 3:8. We were made for Him. So without Him, we feel empty.
And if God without a man, He still a God.
Psalm 115: 3 " Our God is in heaven, He does whatever pleases Him." This is where we learn humility. God does not need us to be God. Before we existed, He was God (Psalm 90:2) " from everlasting to everlasting You are God."
If we stop worshipping Him, creation will. (Luke 9:40) " I tell you.. the stones will cry out; if we walk away, His throne doesn't shake (Daniel 4:35) " He does according to His will... And none can stay His land."
God is not disparate for followers. He is worthy of followers. He invites us not because He lacks something, but it is because we lack something without Him.
This should keep us humble we don't do God a favor by serving Him. It is a privilege that the King of the universe would want us with Him. 1 peter 2:9 " you are a chosen people... That you may declare the praises of Him."
God doesn't need us... But He wants us. We need Him... And He will take great delight in you. Zephaniah 3:17 " the Lord your God is with you, the mighty warrior who serves. He will take delight in you.."
Think about it the Most High God, who needs nothing, delights in you. He's not saying , " serve me or I'll fall apart." He's saying, " come to me, and you will never lack again." John 10:10 " I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
Friends, don't live a lacking life. Don't try to do life on your own strength. Run back to God, because outside of Him we are empty.
And also don't be proud. Don't think God can't do it without you. He can, but He chose to include you. And that's Grace.
We need God to be complete. God does not need us to be God, but in His love, He let us be part of what He's doing.
