RECOGNIZING JESUS
Seeing God at Work in Difficult Times
Luke 2:25–27
“Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon… The Holy Spirit was upon him… He came in the Spirit into the temple…”
Today, many families are under pressure…
tired, stretched, and quietly asking: “Lord, where are You?”
But here is the truth:
God is not absent—He is present.
We just need to recognize Him.
1. Recognize Jesus Even When He Comes Unexpectedly
Luke 2:26–27
Jesus came not as a king, but as a baby—silent, simple, and unnoticed.
Many missed Him because He did not match their expectations.
Sometimes God is already answering… but in a form we did not expect—through process, delay, or small beginnings.
If we limit how God should move, we may miss how God is moving.
Faith learns to trust—even when it does not understand.
2. Recognize Jesus Even in Brokenness and Emptiness
Luke 2:24
Mary and Joseph brought only doves—seen as poor and lacking.
But what people did not see… they were carrying Jesus, the true Lamb of God.
What looked like lack on the outside was actually the presence of God on the inside.
People may judge your situation—but they cannot see what you carry.
Your weakness does not disqualify you… it makes room for God’s fullness.
Sometimes, God is most present in the places where you feel most empty.
3.Recognize Jesus Through Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit
Luke 2:25
Many were in the temple, but only Simeon recognized Jesus.
The difference was not activity—but sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
Without Him, we can hear, sing, and serve… yet still miss God.
Recognition is spiritual, not natural.
The Holy Spirit gives clarity in confusion, peace in chaos, and vision in darkness.
A strong family is not just busy for God—it is led by God.
Conclusion
Today, God is saying:
“I am here… you just need to recognize Me.”
He is present in your struggle.
He is working in your delay.
He is moving in your process.
Don’t miss Him.
