Today’s Gospel presents the Eight Beatitudes as Jesus’ way of redefining true happiness. In a world that values wealth, power, and recognition, Jesus calls blessed those who are poor in spirit, meek, merciful, pure of heart, and peacemakers. The Beatitudes remind us that true joy is not found in having more, but in loving more—loving God and others even in times of suffering and sacrifice. They challenge us to live with humility, compassion, and faith, trusting that God’s promises are greater than any hardship we face. Through the Beatitudes, Jesus invites us to live not for this world alone, but for the Kingdom of God.
