God of mercy, when we grow impatient with our struggles or the trials around us, grant us the strength to choose Your love. Help us to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in calling upon Your name. Remind us that Your grace is always stronger than our failures. Amen.

We need godly leaders. We need accountability. We need the church.

Mahalaga ang mga taong ginagamit ng Diyos para turuan tayo, itama tayo, at samahan tayo sa paglago. But there is a difference between receiving godly guidance and building our faith around the person who guides us.

Because what happens when the leader who has always been there is no longer beside you?

Paano kung dumating ang panahon na hindi ka na magagabayan in the same way ng taong matagal nang kasama mo?
What if your shepherd is called to serve somewhere else?

Will you still serve?
Will you still remain connected to the church?
Will you still follow Jesus?

Paul said:

📖 “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”
— 1 Corinthians 11:1

Paul allowed others to learn from his life, but his example was always meant to point them beyond himself to Christ.

The discipler was never meant to become the destination. Jesus is.

This is why healthy discipleship goes beyond telling people what to do.

Hindi lang natin sila sinasabihang manalangin. We teach them to seek God in prayer.

Hindi lang natin sila binibigyan ng sagot. We teach them to search the Scriptures.

Hindi lang natin sila tinutulungang tumayo kapag mahina sila. We help them become rooted in Christ so they can learn to stand firm in faith.

Because the goal is not permanent dependence on the discipler.

The goal is maturity in Christ.

And eventually, healthy discipleship begins to reproduce.

Yung taong dati ay tinuturuan mong manalangin eventually learns to pray with someone else.

The person you once taught the Bible begins opening Scripture with another person.

Yung taong dati ay ine-encourage mong sumunod kay Jesus eventually becomes someone who helps another person follow Him too.

What was faithfully poured into them begins to flow through them toward others.

Leaders may change.
Assignments may change.
Ministry seasons may end.

But Jesus remains.

And if you are discipling someone, remember:

Your greatest success is not becoming someone they cannot continue without. It is seeing them become so rooted in Christ that they continue following Him and eventually help someone else do the same.

Because leaders are important.
Disciplers are important.
The church is important.

But Christ alone is the foundation.

📖 “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
— 1 Corinthians 3:11

May we disciple people so faithfully that when we are no longer beside them, they still know whom to follow.

Lord, on this day help me to live out my faith with hope and humility. When I feel weary, fill me with hope that trusts in Your plans. When pride rises, clothe me with humility to serve others with a gentle heart. Guide my thoughts, words, and actions so they reflect Your love. Let my life today be a quiet testimony of Your grace. I surrender this day to You — lead me, strengthen me, and use me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
