VICTORIOUS SUNDAY ✨🔥

Yesterday, we gathered as one body, lifting our hearts to the One who has already won the victory!

May faith be lifted up, worship get louder, and our hearts grow deeper in surrender. 🙌

No matter what we face, we choose to trust, praise, and stand victorious in Christ.

To Jesus be all the glory! 🤍🔥

Christian Education: brother Jeremiah Reuyan

Main Topic: Faith
Faith is often misunderstood and misplaced. Many people trust in themselves, rituals, or false beliefs instead of God.

The Bible teaches that true faith is not found in human ideas or works, but in complete trust in God and His Word through Jesus Christ. To understand real faith, we must first know what faith is not.

Faith is Not .....

A. Humanism – Man’s faith in himself; man as the measure of all things.
Jeremiah 17:5 – “Cursed is the one who trusts in man…”

B. Escapism – Seeking peace in drugs, alcohol, or fantasy instead of God.
Ephesians 5:18 – “Do not get drunk on wine… instead, be filled with the Spirit.”

C. Occultism – Spiritism, contacting the dead, Satanism.
Deuteronomy 18:10–12 – God forbids divination, sorcery, and consulting the dead.
Isaiah 8:19 – “Should not a people inquire of their God?”

D. Mysticism (Pantheism) – Belief that God is in everything and everyone.
Isaiah 45:5 – “I am the Lord, and there is no other.”
Romans 1:25 – Worshiping creation rather than the Creator.

E. Sacramentalism – Trusting rituals alone to receive God’s grace.
Ephesians 2:8–9 – “By grace you have been saved, through faith… not by works.”
Galatians 2:16 – Justified by faith in Christ, not by works of the law.

F. Legalism – Trying to please God by good works alone.
Ceb:
Romans 3:20 – “By the works of the law no one will be justified.”

Subtopic: What faith can do?
Text: Mark 9:14-29

Faith is more than a feeling—it is the bridge between human weakness and God’s power. In Mark 9:14–29, we meet a father desperate for his son’s healing, disciples struggling with failure, and Jesus revealing that true victory comes through faith and prayer. The father’s cry, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief,” shows us that faith does not require perfection; it requires honesty and dependence on Christ.

This passage reminds us that:
- Faith admits our limitations.
- Faith connects us to God’s strength.
- Faith, even when small, can move mountains when placed in the hands of Jesus.

3 points we can get about what faith can do?

1. Our Faith in God brings healing to ourselves.
Matthew 9: 18-26
Mathew 9: 27-31
2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

2. Our Faith brings healing to others
Luke 7:1-10
- Having faith means we must humble ourselves regardless of our position or titles in life.

3. Our Faith in God help us overcome difficulties and trials.
Genesis 22:1-2
- Even the situation is not in favour with us, choose to obey God like Abraham.

Conclusion:

“What faith can do” is not about what we can achieve on our own, but about what God can accomplish when we trust Him—even with trembling hearts.

Matthew 17:20 (NIV) – “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

The Bible clearly teaches that with God all things are possible. The most well-known verse is Matthew 19:26, where Jesus says, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” This truth is echoed in other passages such as Luke 1:37 and Mark 10:27.

Faith isn’t just something we believe—it’s something we live.

We welcomed August with grateful hearts as we began our new Christian Education series on Faith. Today’s service reminded us that worship is an act of surrender, and that our identity is found in Christ alone.

As children of God, may our lives reflect His love, holiness, and truth every day—not only inside the church, but wherever He sends us.

Praying that this month will be marked by deeper faith, unwavering obedience, and a life that glorifies Him. 🤍

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are.” — 1 John 3:1
