Knowing Christ Deeper This page will post Bible verses,Christian articles, thoughts and insights of faithful men and women Why does God want Christians to pray? God is Sovereign.

The Purpose of The Knowing Christ Deeper

We are a Christian Ministry whose purpose is to encourage everyone/Christians to pray, to seek God first more than anything, to draw close to God with all humility, compassion and grace. While doing this, we proclaim Jesus Christ to those who have never accepted Him as their personal Lord and Saviour. "The Purpose of The Knowing Christ Deeperβ„’ is to promot

e and encourage prayer among all Christians everywhere, and in so doing, to bear witness of Jesus Christ to all people everywhere." There are three main reasons. The first is: TO SHOW US HIS GREAT LOVE by answering our prayers. The second is: TO CHANGE OUR OWN PERSPECTIVE INTO GOD'S PERSPECTIVE. When Christians pray, we draw close to God, We become closer and closer to Christ Himself, as we allow Him to live the Christian life. The third reason is: to KNOW CHRIST MORE AND MORE. When Christians pray, the Lord will enable our desire to know Him in Grace and in His Word. "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! (2 Peter 3:18) God releases the power of the Holy Spirit to empower His work through us in this world, to accomplish His Will. Prayer is one of the main ways through which God has chosen to release His power to His people, His representatives on Earth, His church; and to accomplish His Will in the World. God also uses Faith, Hope, Love, His Word, and Sovereign Acts. One or more of these (or even all) may be working together at the same time. The power is God's, the power of the Holy Spirit. God is not limited to using mere men, but He has chosen to use mere men and women when we pray to Him in Jesus' Name. The Knowing Christ Deeperβ„’ seeks to "get Christians praying" so that God's work on Earth can receive more of God's power, the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish God's will. Why has God chosen to use our prayers as a channel for releasing the power of the Holy Spirit on Earth? Certainly He could do it without us. It is the same with preaching. God has chosen to anoint our testimony of Jesus Christ, and the Word of God, with the power of His Holy Spirit. He has chosen to work with and through His people to accomplish His Will. It is an honor that astounds and amazes us, leaving us in a state of reverent awe. God wants Christians to pray. God has chosen to release the power of the Holy Spirit for God's work on Earth in answer to our prayers. The Bible teaches that all Christians, though not called to the ministry of Evangelist, are called to be witnesses of Christ. Of His death and shed blood on the Cross for our sins. Of his Resurrection and the offering of His blood before God in Heaven, that we might obtain forgiveness of our sins and enter into a relationship with God, being Born-again from above to new life as sons of God. We believe that the same is true of Christian ministries, as of individual Christians. The Purpose of The Knowing Christ Deeperβ„’ is to encourage and motivate Christians to pray. And to lift up Jesus Christ. For He has said that when we do this, He will draw all men unto Himself. Though we are called to a ministry to Christians, we believe that all Christian ministries are also called to lift up the Name of Jesus to those who are not Christians. God has chosen that His work on Earth should be strengthened, furthered, and increased in intensity and magnitude through the prayers of His people.

The excellencies of our God are displayed in the heavens and throughout all the earth. His majestic power, wisdom, and love are seen in the things that He made. The "Book of Nature" is a commentary on the attributes, or "perfections," of God.

Prayer:
We see Your works, O Lord, all around us, and we are Your works ourselves. The heavens stretch on and on for untold billions of miles in every direction, and they are filled with vast galaxies of stars and a thousand untold wonders. But even they cannot but begin to declare Your full glory. We stand in awe of You and worship You, O God our Creator! Amen. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Jehovah God was "among" the Israelites of old. He is the "landlord" of all the earth, and he decided to take the land of Canaan from the idolatrous and wicked Canaanites and give it to his people for an everlasting possession. Moses told Israel they need not fear what man could do to them since the mighty God of Jacob was in their midst.

Prayer:
O Friend of sinners, if you be for us, who can stand against us? If we take up your sword, your Word, and use it aright, and the Spirit wields it inwardly eiven as we wield it outwardly, Satan cannot defeat its power. Teach us to trust your Word, your truths, and your Spirit. Show us you power to save. Let us not be afraid when we know you are walking among us. Amen.πŸ™βœοΈπŸ™

The Word of God is essentially a guide for believers. In addition to providing Christians the truths about our Creator and our Savior, the Bible also teaches us and gives us hope. We can learn from the experiences of those in God's Word, so that we see how they overcome and how God rescued them. We can learn from their mistakes. When we reflect on all the Bible tells us, we are comforted in our own trials and have hope.

Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for giving us your word. When I struggle, help me to read your word to discern your truths. When I am unsure what to do, help me to use your word as guide. Make me teachable through your word, O Lord. May I be comforted by your word and be filled with understanding and hope about your goodness. In Jesus' name, amen.πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

It is only in the Lord we may find the true and lasting escape from our earthly cages. The earth may melt and the sky turn to smoke, but yet our spirits and souls will rise on the day of reckoning, to find love and peace in God's everlasting arms.

Prayer:
God Almighty my Father and Savior, hallowed be thy name! Help me to keep my eyes trained on Heaven, our eternal end, filled with peace and grace. For as this earth withers or burns, and my body decays, I know my spirit will still remain, seeking out Your light in paradise. Amen. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Give thanks to the Lord for His mercy. We had not done anything to warrant His divine grace and love, but yet here it is, shining on our spirits. Throughout our lives, in a million different ways we may transgress His wishes and words, but so long as we keep our hearts pure, and continue to serve Him in all we do, then shall His mercy be infinite.

Prayer:
Merciful Lord, eternal is Your love for Your children. I pray for Your patience when or if I offend or transgress Your wishes, and to grant me the goodness within my heart, to improve each and every day in serving Your word. For You are our compassionate Lord, our shepherd and benevolent Creator, to whom I praise for all eternity. Amen.πŸ™βœοΈπŸ™

Even though our spirits may be pure and good, it is admittedly hard to stay so owning to our earthly bodies, attracted as we often are to simple earthly pleasures and temptations, from over-eating all the way through to lust. It is here where the battlefield is for so many of us. For in the flesh may be 'the law of sin' as quoted in the passage, whilst in our mind resides the place wherein we need to turn our thoughts towards what is best for serving the Lord.

Prayer:
Lord God, let not my body falter where my mind may carry me. Allow me to exalt and honor Your name. Give me strength Lord, to resist in earthly temptations, lest they should carry me away from Your Kingdom. Let not my body harm Lord, the true love I have for You within my soul. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

The 'inner man' we all possess which may be strengthened is that cast in the mold of our savior Jesus Christ. Through His deeds, charity and love for the poor and the dispossessed, we saw the very embodiment of the love of our Lord. Through His words as inscribed in the gospels, may we see the footsteps that lead into His Heavenly Paradise.

Prayer:
Lord above, gracious and merciful, grant me the strength of spirit to become as Your only begotten Son, righteous and pure. As I look within, I realize I still have so far to travel in becoming the embodiment of Your word, but with Your love I will strive each day, to become more and more perfect in the image of Christ. I pray You send the Holy Spirit to work through me Lord, to carry along on the winds of its grace. Amen.πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

From birth, Christ already shouldered the heavy responsibility of redeeming the sins of man. In our daily life, we may complain of all our responsibilities, of our banal routine activities in paying for a house, studying, going to work, cleaning the house, and so on.

These are but trifles compared to the burden of the cross Christ had to carry for all mankind. Never forget, never lose perspective or be ungrateful for the gift of life and salvation given unto us by him, for that is what is truly important, this is the responsibility and weight, immeasurably larger than our own, carried for us.

Praise the Lord that today we know His name. For Mary and Joseph for having the courage and faith to comply with God's plan. It makes one wonder; if God or His angel Gabriel spoke to us today, would we also have this strength? Called upon to perform or experience the miraculous, would we have the faith of Joseph or the Holy Virgin to carry through with His plan, however obscure the motivations might seem to us, His humble servants?

Prayer:
Dear God, I pray that I will always take heed to the guidance of your Spirit. Thank you Jesus for doing what no man could ever do – fullfil the law and overpower the sting of sin and death. I thank you, Lord, that I am now righteous because of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.πŸ™βœοΈπŸ™

Before Jesus Christ's death and resurrection, sin equaled death. We were trapped and enslaved to sin. Sin separated us from eternity with God. However, Jesus Christ came to earth to live a sin-free life, die on the cross for our sins and then experience true resurrection. Like how Jesus rose from the dead and is alive, we have been given freedom from the bo***ge of sin through his death so that we might live. We no longer have to fear death from sin because we have been forgiven and given eternal life.

Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for sending your son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for my sins. Because of his death and resurrection, I know sin no longer has any power over me. Whenever I am tempted, help me to flee. Whenever I sin, forgive me, O Lord. Thank you for your mercy and grace. I know I do not deserve it, yet you give it freely. Help me to live life abundantly and to live in the truth that sin no longer has any power over me. I proclaim victory in Jesus. In Jesus' name, amen.πŸ™βœοΈπŸ™

It is often depicted in acts of fiction; someone on their deathbed cries out to God, begging for forgiveness at the last moment. The message of the cross is useless to those that are perishing. If you have asked to be saved, it is everything. Believers! Do not wait until the last minute. Believe in the word and be saved!

Prayer:
Abba Father, I beg Your forgiveness for any moment of disbelief I have felt. As Your humble servant, lead me by my hand so that I may know the way. Absolve me of my sins and strengthen my future resolve and faith in You. I pray that I shall live with no fear of death or judgment day; no, I shall live and love freely. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

How much time do we spend on things that don't truly matter? Stress, anxiety, worries, anger, sadness...is this how God intended us to wisely spend our time? Through faithful study, meditation, and acts of kindness, our insecurities and pain can be transformed into wisdom and love.

Prayer:
I am here, my Lord. The time I have I want to spend with You. Forgive me for focusing on fleeting and useless thoughts and tasks. Each day is a chance for me to learn more and grow closer to You. Let the Holy Spirit flow with me this day and for all of my days, aiding me on a path to wisdom. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
