Are there people in your life whom you find difficult to love? Someone who has hurt you and never apologized? Someone you are called to show kindness to even though they may never give anything back?

It is easy to love people who love us in return. It is easy to be generous when we know our kindness will be remembered, appreciated, or repaid. We naturally want to give our love to those whom we think deserve it.

But the love Jesus showed us goes much deeper than that.

Jesus loved His enemies. He showed mercy to sinners. He prayed for those who crucified Him. He served people knowing that some would reject Him, abandon Him, and even betray Him. His love was never based on what people could give Him in return.

That is sacrificial love.

Jesus said in John 13:35, “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

Jesus was teaching that one of the clearest evidences that we belong to Him is not merely what we say about our faith, but how His love begins to shape the way we treat others. Christian love should look different because its source is Christ Himself.

This does not mean pretending that sin does not matter, tolerating abuse, or removing every healthy boundary. Biblical love still speaks truth and seeks what is good. But it refuses hatred, bitterness, revenge, and the mindset that says, “I will only love you if you deserve it.”

May we all learn to love like Jesus, with a love that does not constantly ask, “What will I receive in return?”

Because this is exactly how Christ loved us.

Romans 5:8 declares, “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

Jesus did not wait for us to become worthy before loving us. He loved us while we were still sinners and gave Himself for us on the cross.

So when loving someone becomes difficult, may we remember the Gospel. We are not being asked to manufacture this kind of love by our own strength. We love because we ourselves have first been loved by Christ.

May the world see something of Jesus through the way we love, forgive, give, serve, and show mercy to others, even when there is nothing for us to gain in return.

YOUR SALVATION IS WORTH MORE THAN ANYTHING THIS WORLD CAN OFFER

The world will fight for your attention every single day. It will tell you that money is success, pleasure is freedom, fame is fulfillment, and sin is harmless. But these are temporary treasures that can never satisfy an eternal soul. Satan doesn't need to destroy your life overnight—he only needs to slowly pull your heart away from God.

Never exchange your eternal inheritance for temporary satisfaction. A few moments of worldly pleasure are never worth an eternity separated from God. Sin always promises freedom, but it produces bo***ge. It advertises happiness, but it leaves behind guilt, brokenness, and regret.

One day your money will be left behind. Your possessions will belong to someone else. Your achievements will be forgotten. Your popularity will fade. But your soul will live forever. On that day, the only question that will matter is: Were you faithful to Jesus Christ?

Protect your salvation with all your heart. Stay in God's Word. Live a life of prayer. Walk in holiness. Reject compromise, even when everyone else accepts it. Stand for the truth, even when it costs you. It is better to lose the approval of the world than to lose the presence of God.

Jesus shed His precious blood so that you could be saved. Do not treat that sacrifice lightly. He did not die so that we could continue living for the world; He died so that we could live for Him.

The world offers temporary pleasure. Jesus offers eternal life.

The world offers empty promises. Jesus offers everlasting hope.

The world can satisfy your flesh for a moment. Only Christ can save your soul forever.

Choose what will matter a million years from now, not what feels good for a few moments today.
