Today, the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Youth Apostolate gathered for the PSB Recollection 2026 with the theme โServant Leadershipโ at the Missionaries of the Assumption Farm Retreat House, Purok 6, Tacunan, Davao City.
The recollection began with an orientation led by Sr. Clare Clordearta, m.a. followed by an animation and a fun Getting to Know Activity, allowing the participants to build deeper connections and foster a spirit of fellowship.
The highlight of the morning was the talk on Servant Leadership given by Rev. Fr. Ritzchild John S. Cariaga, DCD. He reminded the participants that leadership is rooted not in power, but in commitment, humility, and service. โCommitting ourselves means making every effort to do our best in order to improve life.โ he said.
In the afternoon, the participants expressed their understanding of servant leadership through role-playing, presenting different situations that reflected how they perceive and live out leadership through service.
The day was prayerfully concluded with the Holy Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Lope Polinar, AJC, who encouraged the young leaders to remain faithful in their service to the Church, especially to the young people. โMay you continue to serve the Church, especially the young people, and may you grow in your faith.โ snippet from his homily.
May this recollection remind us that true leadership begins with a willing heart to serve. May we continue to lead not by being above others, but by walking with them, listening to them, and serving them with love.
