We, the St. Gregory the Great Choir, wholeheartedly offer our voices in leading the faithful in singing during the Holy Mass. Inspired by Rev. Fr. Ami El Arado and Msgr. Florencio P. Salvador Jr., we are reminded that when a choir sings at Mass, it is not a performance—but a channel that leads people to prayer. 🙏

The true purpose of the Liturgy—and of singing at Holy Mass—is the glorification of God and the sanctification of His people. It is never about drawing attention to ourselves, but about lifting hearts to Him.

As members of the music ministry, may we continue to be instruments of grace—helping others to pray deeply, listen to God’s Word, and serve Him faithfully.

Let us always offer our very best to the Lord, lifting our voices in songs that give Him glory and inspire others to praise Him. ✨

In Him, we find peace, guidance, and true life. May we learn to listen more closely to His voice and follow where He leads, knowing that He desires nothing but life in abundance for all 🙏✨

April 20 - Sunday | Fourth Sunday of Easter (Good Shepherd Sunday)

"The voice of the Good Shepherd leads us to life and safety."

Today we celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Easter, also known as Good Shepherd Sunday. Jesus reveals Himself as the Shepherd who knows His sheep personally, calls them by name, and leads them with care, love, and protection. His guidance is not distant, but intimate and faithful.

This Sunday invites us to listen attentively to the voice of Christ amid the many competing voices in the world. In moments of confusion or uncertainty, the Good Shepherd continues to call us, guiding us toward truth, peace, and fullness of life. We are also reminded of our call to follow Him with trust and to reflect His care by serving others with compassion.

May we, through the Good Shepherd, receive the grace to recognize His voice, to follow Him faithfully, and to become instruments of His love for those entrusted to us.

Lord Jesus, our Good Shepherd, lead us always.

Resurrexit: Mass Songs for the 1st Archdiocesan Music Ministry 2026

Dear fellow musicians and choirs of the Archdiocese of Davao — this songbook is our gift to you.

As we prepare for the April 25, 2026 Music Convention, the Music Ministry invites every parish choir, song leader, and instrumentalist to take time to learn the songs prepared for our celebration of the Easter season. Some pieces may be new to you — and that is a beautiful thing. Growth in ministry means embracing both the familiar and the fresh.

Resources including audio recordings and song notations are provided freely so no one is left behind. Let this music convention, the 1st in our Archdiocese, be a moment we remember — not just for the songs we knew, but for the ones we learned together.
