July 26 - Sunday | Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Fil-Mission Sunday & World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly

"The Kingdom of God is the greatest treasure we can ever possess."

Today we celebrate the Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, while also observing Fil-Mission Sunday and the World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly. Through the parables of the hidden treasure and the pearl of great price, Jesus teaches that the Kingdom of Heaven is worth giving everything for. Those who encounter Christ discover a treasure that surpasses all earthly riches and are moved to share that gift with others.

This Sunday reminds us that the treasure of faith is not meant to be kept to ourselves. As missionaries by our baptism, we are called to proclaim the Gospel with joy, while also honoring our grandparents and the elderly, whose lives bear witness to God's enduring faithfulness. Their wisdom, prayers, and steadfast example enrich the Church and inspire future generations to seek the Kingdom above all else.

May we ask the Lord for the grace to treasure His Kingdom above everything else, to share the Good News with generous hearts, and to cherish the elderly who continue to strengthen the Church through their faith and witness.

Lord, help us treasure Your Kingdom and joyfully share it with the world.

July 19 - Sunday | Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

"God's patient mercy leads the faithful to everlasting glory."

Today we celebrate the Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, where Jesus explains the Parable of the Weeds among the Wheat. He teaches that while good and evil exist side by side in this world, God patiently allows time for repentance and conversion. At the appointed time, His perfect justice and mercy will be fully revealed, and the faithful will share in the glory of His Kingdom.

This Sunday reminds us to trust in God's wisdom rather than rush to judgment. We are called to persevere in goodness, even when evil seems to flourish, knowing that the Lord sees every act of faithfulness and will bring His harvest to completion. By remaining steadfast in holiness, we prepare ourselves for the day when we will shine in His presence forever.

May we ask the Lord for the grace to grow in righteousness, to trust in His patient mercy, and to persevere faithfully until we share in the joy of His eternal Kingdom.

Lord, make us faithful until we shine in Your Kingdom.

Through the years, youโ€™ve been a true blessing to the church and to SGTGCโ€”arranging music, accompanying Kuya Alan during Mass, and helping make every celebration more meaningful through your talent.

Youโ€™re not only one of the strongest pillars of the Bass section but also someone who always stands up for the group.
