2.New Testament 2nd part
Rom.8.11 - And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
Rom.8.12 - Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.
Rom.8.13 - For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,
Rom.8.14 - because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Rom.8.15 - For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."
Rom.8.16 - The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
Rom.8.17 - Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

2.New Testament 1st part

Rom.8.1 - Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
Rom.8.2 - because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom.8.3 - For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man,
Rom.8.4 - in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.
Rom.8.5 - Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
Rom.8.6 - The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;
Rom.8.7 - the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so.
Rom.8.8 - Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.
Rom.8.9 - You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
Rom.8.10 - But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.

1.Old Testament 3rd part

Hos.9.10 - "When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the desert; when I saw your fathers, it was like seeing the early fruit on the fig tree. But when they came to Baal Peor, they consecrated themselves to that shameful idol and became as vile as the thing they loved.
Hos.9.11 - Ephraim's glory will fly away like a bird- no birth, no pregnancy, no conception.
Hos.9.12 - Even if they rear children, I will bereave them of every one. Woe to them when I turn away from them!
Hos.9.13 - I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place. But Ephraim will bring out their children to the slayer."
Hos.9.14 - Give them, O LORD - what will you give them? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry.
Hos.9.15 - "Because of all their wickedness in Gilgal, I hated them there. Because of their sinful deeds, I will drive them out of my house. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious.
Hos.9.16 - Ephraim is blighted, their root is withered, they yield no fruit. Even if they bear children, I will slay their cherished offspring.
Hos.9.17 - My God will reject them because they have not obeyed him; they will be wanderers among the nations.

Hos.9.3 - They will not remain in the LORD's land; Ephraim will return to Egypt and eat unclean food in Assyria. -- null

Hos.9.5 - What will you do on the day of your appointed feasts, on the festival days of the LORD? -- null
Hos.9.6 - Even if they escape from destruction, Egypt will gather them, and Memphis will bury them. Their treasures of silver will be taken over by briers, and thorns will overrun their tents. -- null
Hos.9.7 - The days of punishment are coming, the days of reckoning are at hand. Let Israel know this. Because your sins are so many and your hostility so great, the prophet is considered a fool, the inspired man a maniac. -- null

1.Old Testament 1st part

Hos.8.1 - "Put the trumpet to your lips! An eagle is over the house of the LORD because the people have broken my covenant and rebelled against my law.
Hos.8.2 - Israel cries out to me, 'O our God, we acknowledge you!'
Hos.8.3 - But Israel has rejected what is good; an enemy will pursue him.
Hos.8.4 - They set up kings without my consent; they choose princes without my approval. With their silver and gold they make idols for themselves to their own destruction.
Hos.8.5 - Throw out your calf-idol, O Samaria! My anger burns against them. How long will they be incapable of purity?
Hos.8.6 - They are from Israel! This calf-a craftsman has made it; it is not God. It will be broken in pieces, that calf of Samaria.
Hos.8.7 - "They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind. The stalk has no head; it will produce no flour. Were it to yield grain, foreigners would swallow it up.
Hos.8.8 - Israel is swallowed up; now she is among the nations like a worthless thing.
Hos.8.9 - For they have gone up to Assyria like a wild donkey wandering alone. Ephraim has sold herself to lovers.
Hos.8.10 - Although they have sold themselves among the nations, I will now gather them together. They will begin to waste away under the oppression of the mighty king.
Hos.8.11 - "Though Ephraim built many altars for sin offerings, these have become altars for sinning.
Hos.8.12 - I wrote for them the many things of my law, but they regarded them as something alien.
Hos.8.13 - They offer sacrifices given to me and they eat the meat, but the LORD is not pleased with them. Now he will remember their wickedness and punish their sins: They will return to Egypt.
Hos.8.14 - Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; Judah has fortified many towns. But I will send fire upon their cities that will consume their fortresses."

The Paradox Of Ephraim
The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle (Psalm 78:9)

The French Foreign Legion is said to have a motto that reads, "If I falter, push me on. if I stumble, pick me up. If I retreat, shoot meโ€. This is a statement of commitment that befits all soldiers of the Lord. Its implication is clear: turning back is not an option. This is why, in the Christian armour, there is no provision for the back.

The children of Ephraim acted out the direct opposite of what it means to be committed and courageous. Many Bible scholars have attempted to pin down the particular historic incident in the annals of the Jews that verse 9 of Psalm 78 refers to. But such details are not as important as the lessons that leap from the verse. The children of Ephraim had a most wonderful pedigree, occupied a significant spot in Israel and were reputed for gallantry. Here, they were kitted with the best armour of their day, but in the day of battle, they cowardly turned back. They lost honour and reward.

The experience of the children of Ephraim is not far from what we see in the lives of many professing believers today. They are gifted with spiritual resources necessary for an overcoming life. But in โ€the day of battle" when it matters most, instead of gallantly standing up for Jesus, they yield or turn back. How did Ephraim come into such a terrible state? They had apparently lost their moral and spiritual bearing - as reflected in the subsequent verses. Their life had become characterized by unfaithfulness and ingratitude to God who had done so much for them.

No matter how spiritually and intellectually fortified we are, if we relapse into compromise and sin, we are bound to suffer defeat. Sin weakens the very fabric of our being (Proverbs 28:1). But consistent life of holiness gives us the spine to face daunting challenges and the enemy.

Weapons are only as useful and effective as their users.

2.New Testament 2nd part
Rom.7.14 - We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. -- null
Rom.7.15 - I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. -- null
Rom.7.16 - And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. -- null
Rom.7.17 - As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. -- null
Rom.7.18 - I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. -- null
Rom.7.19 - For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. -- null
Rom.7.20 - Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. -- null
Rom.7.21 - So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. -- null
Rom.7.22 - For in my inner being I delight in God's law; -- null
Rom.7.23 - but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. -- null
Rom.7.24 - What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? -- null
Rom.7.25 - Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

2.New testament 1st part
Rom.7.7 - What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet." -- null
Rom.7.8 - But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from law, sin is dead. -- null
Rom.7.9 - Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. -- null
Rom.7.10 - I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death. -- null
Rom.7.11 - For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death.
Rom.7.12 - So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.
Rom.7.13 - Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! But in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.

Hos.6.1 - "Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.
Hos.6.2 - After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.
Hos.6.3 - Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.
Hos.6.4 - "What can I do with you, Ephraim? What can I do with you, Judah? Your love is like the morning mist, like the early dew that disappears.
Hos.6.5 - Therefore I cut you in pieces with my prophets, I killed you with the words of my mouth; my judgments flashed like lightning upon you.
Hos.6.6 - For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.
Hos.6.7 - Like Adam, they have broken the covenant- they were unfaithful to me there.

The Ultimate Peace

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you... John 14:27

Jesus said, โ€œBlessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.โ€ Where does peacemaking begin? How can we become peacemakers? Can peace be discovered within ourselves? Freud has told us that peace is but a mental attitude. Cast off our phobias, shed our neuroses, and โ€œbingo!โ€-weโ€™ll have the coveted peace we long for. I respect psychiatry for what it can do. Unquestionably, it has helped many. But it certainly is not satisfactory as a substitute for the peace which can come only from God. If psychiatry leaves God out, ultimately we shall see psychiatrists going to each other for treatment. There can be no peace until we find peace with God. The Bible says, โ€œHe is our peace.โ€

The balm of Your peace pours over my soul and I humbly praise You, almighty God.
