As we gather in prayer, we ask Our Mother of Perpetual Help to shape our hearts after her example of generous love. May we become attentive to the needs of others, willing to offer our time, compassion, and service, and through the grace of God, become living witnesses of Christ's love in our community.

Our Mother of Perpetual Help, teach us to love and serve with joyful hearts.

MABUTING BALITA: Mateo 15, 21-28

St. John Marie Vianney, humble Curé of Ars, gave his life in tireless service to God’s people — teaching, guiding, and spending long hours in the confessional with unfailing patience and love. He is the patron of parish priests, a model of fidelity, sacrifice, and pastoral care.

In prayer, we lift our hearts for our priests and bishops.

AUGUST 4: Memorial of St. John Marie Vianney, Curé of Ars.

Today, the Church honors St. John Marie Vianney (1786–1859), born in Dardilly near Lyons, France, the son of Matthieu Vianney and Marie Beluze. Despite limited schooling and great difficulty with Latin, his perseverance and deep faith led to ordination in 1815. Guided by his mentor M. Balley, he grew in pastoral zeal and was appointed parish priest of Ars in 1818.

In this small village, the humble Curé became renowned for his holiness, charity, and tireless ministry. He founded “The Providence” for orphaned girls, taught catechism daily, and above all devoted himself to the confessional, spending up to eighteen hours a day guiding souls. Pilgrims flocked from across France and beyond, seeking his counsel, healing, and spiritual wisdom. His life was marked by prayer, mortification, and cheerful endurance, sustained by love of God and neighbor.

Canonized in 1925, St. John Vianney remains the patron of parish priests, a model of pastoral dedication and simplicity. May his example inspire us to serve faithfully, to persevere in prayer, and to lead others to Christ with humility and love.

MABUTING BALITA: Mateo 14, 22-36
Lunes sa Ika-Labing Walong Lingo sa Karaniwang Panahon

Jesus came to his native place and taught the people in their synagogue. They were astonished and said, “Where did this man get such wisdom and mighty deeds? Is he not the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother named Mary and his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas? Are not his sisters all with us? Where did this man get all this?” And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and in his own house.” And he did not work many mighty deeds there because of their lack of faith.

“To animate and accompany the DLSU-D Community towards the experience of being Church in campus.”

We have had the profound grace of journeying together—knowing, loving, and following Jesus Christ as one community. As this chapter comes to a close, our hearts overflow with immense gratitude to God.

To our DLSU-D family: THANK YOU. Thank you for allowing us to walk alongside you through every season—in joys and sorrows, in struggles and triumphs. In sharing your lives with us, you showed us that true synodality—walking together in faith—is not just an ideal, but a lived reality.

To our dear mission partners: our deepest gratitude goes out to you. Your generous support, unwavering prayers, and open hearts have sustained this ministry through the years.

As we look back, we stand in awe of God’s faithfulness, providence, and boundless generosity. We may have been a small team, but God filled our hearts to the brim with love for the ministry, for this community, and above all, for Him.

Though an era ends, the mission carries on. We hold tightly to the spirit of Acts 2:42:

"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

We move forward with hopeful hearts, carrying every memory and every prayer with us. Thank you for the beautiful and remarkable years of faith, fellowship, and grace.

MARAMING, MARAMING SALAMAT, PAMAYANANG LASALYANO!

PADAYON SA MISYON!
