A call to unity is also a call to break free from a religious mindset shaped by human tradition.
Long ago, there was no true unity because of sin—people were separated from God. But Jesus came and gave His life, fulfilling the law so that we could be saved and restored to God once again. Through His sacrifice, He made a way for us to have direct access to God.
In the past, the temple represented the place where God’s presence dwelt, and access was limited. But through what Jesus accomplished on the cross, the barrier was removed. What was once restricted is now open—through Him, we can come directly to God.
Sadly, in this generation, what God has already finished, some have tried to rebuild. Instead of pointing people to Christ’s finished work, there are teachings that present the law as a requirement for salvation, rather than faith in what He has already done.
If we are not truly united in Christ, it will be impossible to bring unity to humanity. Differences in belief and understanding can easily lead to division. But true unity begins when we are grounded in the same truth—faith in Jesus and His finished work.
