Titus 2:1 – “But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.”

In today’s generation, many churches shy away from strong doctrine. The popular mindset is, “Let’s not talk about theology. Let’s just love each other and worship.” But the Bible doesn’t agree with that thinking.

Jesus taught doctrine. The apostles taught doctrine. Paul warned Timothy that the time would come when people wouldn’t want sound teaching anymore. Instead, they’d look for preachers who say only what they want to hear.

That’s where we are now. A lot of what people call “church” today is just entertainment mixed with motivational talk. No conviction, no repentance, no depth.

But doctrine matters because it tells us who God is, who we are, and what salvation really means. Without sound doctrine, we create a god in our own image. We end up with churches full of passion but lacking in truth.

Don’t settle for feel-good messages that have no foundation. Go back to the Word. Dig deep. Learn sound doctrine, and stand on it. It’s not divisive. It’s protective.

The Church Has Been Spiritually Attacked by False Movements

Over the past few decades, the Church has faced intense spiritual attacks—not just through persecution, but through deceptive indoctrination disguised as spiritual experiences. Many believers have been slowly reprogrammed, drawn away from a solid biblical foundation into accepting so-called “new things.” Through experiences like impartation, holy laughter, being slain in the spirit, new revelations, supernatural appearances, dreams, visions, and modern-day prophecies, a major shift has taken place. Things are changing rapidly, and many claim that the restoration of apostles and prophets is bringing the Church into a “new and improved” version of the body of Christ.

But where do we get the idea that the Church needs modern prophets in order to function today? This teaching goes back to early influencers like William Branham, who said of himself: “It will take a prophet to get the revelation because God has no other way of bringing out His Scriptural revelations except by a prophet. The Word always came by a prophet and always will.” According to Branham, people cannot understand the Bible unless a prophet explains it—and conveniently, he claimed to be that prophet. But this is dangerous and unbiblical.

The truth is that the canon of Scripture is closed. God is no longer giving new revelation. Scripture is complete, sufficient, and final. Therefore, the Church does not need modern-day prophets in order to grow or understand truth. God did not assign every believer a prophet—He gave us the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God lives in all believers and is our divine Helper, guiding us into all truth as revealed in the written Word of God. The Holy Spirit enables every believer to understand and apply Scripture, not just a select few.

When someone says, “You need me to receive fresh revelation from God,” that is a red flag. That person is not pointing you to Christ—they are pointing you to themselves. This is spiritual manipulation and pride disguised as spirituality.

We are now witnessing an explosion of people claiming to be prophets and prophetesses. Entire ministries are branding themselves as prophetic. Personal prophecies, words of knowledge, and so-called divine downloads are spreading everywhere—through books, videos, livestreams, and conferences. You can’t scroll far on social media without seeing ads for prophetic events. But Jesus Himself warned us in Matthew 24 that false prophets would rise and deceive many—and that’s exactly what we see happening today.

The Bible gives us clear instruction: “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge” (1 Corinthians 14:29). We are not called to blindly accept every person who claims to speak for God. We are called to test every spirit and examine all teaching by the Word of God. “In the multitude of counselors there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14).

The Church must return to the sufficiency of Scripture. We must reject the idea that modern-day prophets are necessary for our spiritual growth. God has already spoken clearly and completely through His written Word and given us His Spirit to understand it. That is more than enough.

Test the Spirits. Not Every Voice is from God

1 John 4:1 commands us to “test the spirits” because not every spiritual message is from God. False prophecies and lying spirits are not only found outside the Church but have also crept within it. This warning is given for our protection. Interestingly, God tells us in Deuteronomy 13 that even if a prophecy comes true, it may still be false because He may be testing our hearts, to see if we truly love Him and remain faithful to His Word.

Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will continue in My Word.” This is a powerful reminder that spiritual maturity means clinging to Scripture, not chasing after every supernatural experience. We must be careful when hearing “spiritual” messages, no matter how convincing they sound.

The book of Ezekiel gives us a sobering warning in Ezekiel 13:2–3: “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, ‘Hear the word of the LORD!’ Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!’” This shows that a person can claim to speak for God but is actually speaking from their own imagination and emotions—not from the Spirit of God.

Spiritual maturity involves discernment. Hebrews 5:13–14 tells us that the mature believer, “the spiritual man” can discern all things. How? Through knowledge of sound doctrine. 2 John 9 warns us that those who do not remain in the doctrine of Christ “do not have God.” In other words, doctrine is the measuring stick of truth.

Romans 16:17–18 also commands us to take action: “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”

In the end, it is not signs, feelings, or miracles that determine truth, it is doctrine. A true love for Jesus will always lead us back to His Word. So test the spirits, examine all teachings, and stay grounded in sound biblical doctrine.

Faith and the Word Cannot Be Separated

The Bible tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please God. But it also tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). This means our faith cannot exist apart from Scripture. True faith is not based on emotions or experiences, it is rooted in what God has spoken through His Word.

To honor and obey what God has said in Scripture is to show love and reverence for the God who said it. Our faith grows as we learn the doctrines of Christ and apply them to our daily lives. Doctrine is not a dry academic pursuit; it is how we learn to walk in truth and grow in relationship with God.

The Bible covers many subjects, and its teachings are found throughout all 66 books. We are called to study the whole counsel of God, comparing Scripture with Scripture, to understand what He has truly said. We don’t pick and choose, we gather everything the Bible says on a topic so we can stand on the full truth.

That’s why doctrine matters so much. 2 John 1:9 (KJV) says, “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.” According to Scripture, if someone does not continue in Christ’s doctrine, they do not belong to God.

This doctrine is not found in mystical experiences, new revelations, or private visions, it is found in the Bible alone. That’s why we must stay in the Word of God and let it dwell richly in us. Even Jesus, when tempted by Satan in the wilderness, used the written Word as His final authority. Three times He declared, “It is written” (Matthew 4). If the Son of God Himself relied on Scripture, how much more should we?

Only Christians who seek to know God through His holy written Word will truly hear from Him. Those who try to know God through feelings, voices, or visions, apart from Scripture are not following the Holy Spirit but are deceiving themselves.

God is not speaking new doctrine today. His Word is complete, sufficient, and already written. Our calling is to dig deep into the Scriptures, and to let the Word of Christ dwell in us richly, guiding our faith, shaping our minds, and directing our lives.

Christian Perfection

It’s a trap to believe that God’s goal is to make us perfect examples of what He can accomplish. God's true purpose is not to display us as flawless specimens, but to bring us into deep, genuine oneness with Himself.

Many holiness movements emphasize becoming a model of godly behavior, almost as if we are trophies in God’s museum. But if that’s our mindset, our focus shifts away from God and turns toward proving something through our lives. We begin to chase after signs of our own spirituality instead of pursuing intimacy with the Savior. How can we say, “It can never be God’s will for me to suffer or be sick,” when Isaiah 53:10 says it was God's will to bruise His own Son? If He allowed His perfect Son to suffer, why should we assume we’ll be spared from hardship?

What truly glorifies God in your life is not how consistent or outwardly holy you appear, but your sincere, living relationship with Jesus Christ, expressed through wholehearted devotion, whether in health or in suffering. That’s what reflects God to the world.

Christian perfection is never human perfection. It’s not about flawless behavior. It’s about a perfected relationship with God, a relationship that remains steady and authentic even in the mundane and overlooked areas of life. When you first follow Christ, you may feel overwhelmed by the seeming insignificance of the daily tasks He asks you to do. Then you may notice others who appear to have everything together. Their lives may seem so neat and consistent that you begin to think they don’t need God at all, and maybe you don’t either. But that kind of independence and self-reliance has no place in a fallen world. No one can reach God's standard through human effort alone.

We are called to walk so closely with God that our lives stir a hunger for Him in others, not admiration for ourselves. The more we dwell on ourselves, the less useful we are to God. His purpose is not to polish us into trophies for display, but to shape us into vessels He can truly use. So let Him work. Let Him take you through whatever He sees fit.

His goal isn’t to make you impressive,His goal is to make you His.

Please understand that the only true apostolic authority today is the Apostles’ doctrine, which is found solely in the closed canon of Scripture.
Beware of “heavy shepherding” practices!

“Heavy shepherding”, also known as the Discipleship Movement is a form of psychological and spiritual control used by abusive churches and cult-like groups.

Any leader who demands blind obedience and unquestioning submission is operating on a false foundation of authority. True spiritual authority comes from God alone. It cannot be claimed by men who simply desire power, control, or admiration. When someone asserts authority merely based on their title, role, or office, they are misusing their position.

Heavy shepherds act as religious power brokers, manipulating people through fear. They often preach heavily on themes like authority, submission, judgment, prosperity, and end-times. These false shepherds present themselves as the sole source of truth and divine guidance. They shame or punish those who don’t meet their standards and label them as unworthy of God’s approval, completely ignoring the truth that believers are already accepted by God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. No one can “earn” God’s favor through works or performance.

Be cautious of any group or church that teaches unbiblical concepts such as “shepherding,” forced “submission,” or spiritual “covering.”
We have been bought with the precious blood of Christ and brought into the glorious freedom of God’s children (Romans 8:21).
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
(Galatians 5:1)

The Holy Spirit and the Word of God

The Holy Spirit will always point a person to the Word of God. The Word of God is literally God-breathed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Just as Jesus is 100% God and 100% man, the Word of God is 100% written by the Holy Spirit and 100% written by man.

If your relationship with Jesus isn’t leading you to go deeper in studying and meditating on God's Word, then something may be wrong. Worse, you might actually be following another Jesus or a different gospel.

> "But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully."
—2 Corinthians 11:3-4

God’s Word is truth. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. If you're truly following the biblical Holy Spirit, He will always point you to the truth of God's Word. If you're not growing in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through His Word, it could mean you're being led by a counterfeit spirit (2 Corinthians 11:4).

> “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.”
—John 17:17

> “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak, and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.”
—John 16:13-14

> “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
—John 4:24

> “You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”
—2 Peter 3:17-18

Sadly, many Christians today prioritize superficial unity over spiritual unity in the truth. But we must go back to Jesus’s High Priestly prayer in John 17. We should not take it in pieces. He clearly prayed, “Sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17). True unity comes only when we are united in the truth of God's Word.

05/12/2022

Jesus had much to say about end time prophets, in Mt.24:11 Jesus said, “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” Notice many, not a few, in v.24:24 “For there shall arise false Christ’s, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” Possessors of power seem to be popping up everywhere these days. The Church has never experienced a time when so many have risen up from the four corners of the earth claiming God’s calling to be a prophet or prophetess.

Today there are churches and ministries called prophetic; the office of the prophet, personal prophecy with words of knowledge are spreading everywhere by books and on the internet. One can’t turn anywhere without seeing prophetic conferences advertised today. Just as Jesus warned, we now have a prophet movement that fulfills Scripture.

It was in the Old Testament that God sent the people prophets to hear His message, but this not what He is doing in the New Covenant. God’s message is completed in scripture and sufficient for any Christian to spiritually grow. Today God speaks through the Scriptures that are the Word of God from Jesus Christ, written through His chosen prophets and Apostles (2 Pet. 1:19-21, Heb. 1:1-2).

John 8:31-32 “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.” And you shall know the truth and truth will set you free.” We need to know His word -- the truth, and no revelator except the Holy Spirit is needed to learn the truth. The prophets were necessary as God gave additional revelation to Israel, and when the church was in its infancy.

Jesus was our ultimate prophet God does not need to reveal more of Himself than what He has already revealed to us in Scripture. A person who says they are a prophet today, and is going to reveal new information about God is saying the Bible is not complete or sufficient for us to know God intimately. This means we must depend on him being the current mouthpiece of God to tell us what we are to do; that is what the ancient prophets did. Today we no longer need a prophet speaking for God; God is speaking in His eternal Word because it is complete. It is just as alive today as the day it was given.

Today, prophecy does not have the same position/office that it carried with the prophets to Israel. Prophecy today is not so much a warning, foretelling the future judgment for a nation or kings to move them to repent, but to comfort encourage, edify, those who believe, there is a substantial difference.

1 Cor. 14:3: “But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men” (1 Cor. 14:3), this is quite a different function than the prophets of old who warned, rebuked and declared God’s future judgment for their unrepentance and the future of nations concerning Israel.

Prophets are not a continuing (office) position. However, we do have the gift of prophecy functioning within the local church body. But this is not related to giving doctrine as the prophets did before. But today we do hear new doctrines and revelations from these prophets on prayer, spiritual warfare, affirmations, speaking things into existence; what we do not hear is correction and comfort to peoples lives. In fact there has been a tremendous misuse of those who claim the prophetic gift. Many people have been hurt under “their anointing” and gift of prophecy as they have given words that have not edified or brought comfort.

Jer. 14:14-16: Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My name. I have neither sent them nor commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds.

Jeremiah 23:16-17 “Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Ye do not hearken unto the words Of the prophets who are prophesying to you, They are making you vain things, A vision of their own heart they speak”

“A horrible and shocking thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way But what will you do in the end?” (Jeremiah 5:30-31)

The church is being confronted with the very same conditions Israel was. The question is, what will YOU do?

For ones own spiritual safety they should look into the church they attend, the people they promote or associate with and what they themselves really teach.

The Need for Discernment in the Church

Due to widespread biblical illiteracy over the last few decades, many professing Christians today are unable to recognize New Age, occult, and cultic beliefs that have crept into the churches disguised under Christian-sounding jargon and terminology.

That’s why there is a great need for people who are trained in biblical discernment. An astute and spiritually mature believer is needed to clearly recognize what’s happening and to accurately identify false teachings and deception.

People should be thankful when someone has the gifting, ability, and boldness to “tell it like it is.” Speaking the truth in love is not unkind. In fact, love rejoices in the truth and does not tolerate lies or deception.

Sadly, many churches have embraced an unbiblical “anti-judging” policy. This mindset actually hinders spiritual growth and leaves both individuals and congregations wide open to the influence of doctrines of demons.

2 Timothy 2:23-26
But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels. The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

2 John 9 warns us about deceivers, and teaches us that the way to identify them is by their doctrine:
Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God.

To transgress here means to go beyond the boundaries that God has already set in His Word. Those who do not remain in the doctrine of Christ are not from God. This shows how essential it is to know, teach, and uphold sound doctrine. Not every disagreement requires division, but some battles are worth fighting, especially when the truth of the gospel is at stake.

Hebrews 5:13-14
For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

More believers need to grow up in their understanding of Scripture. Maturity in the Word gives confidence to correct major error, disciple others, and practice sound biblical discernment. Notice that discernment grows “by reason of use.” We have to apply what we learn.

Philippians 1:9
And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment.

We are to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. But you only get out of it what you’re willing to put into it. A church that lacks knowledge will inevitably lack discernment. And that’s a dangerous place to be.

26/11/2022

When is the church leadership going to be serious enough about their position and faith to actually help those in their churches and fellowships begin a plan to not just read through but study the Bible.

This, in part, is what the Bible calls discipleship after evangelism. When those who are more mature in the faith disciple younger believers in God’s Word leading them closer to the Shepherd, Jesus!

This lazy influence has taken away the incentive for people to hunger for and to study the Scripture on their own. Instead they are telling people to just have faith, a faith which is disconnected from the Word in its context. It is a false faith because it concentrates on self, and our will not God’s.

11/11/2022

We cannot Christianize the world but we can see individual people become Christians. Not by binding the demons to set them free but by preaching the Gospel and making disciples.

While there is nothing wrong with walking and praying its what they make out of it that distorts its meaning. Prayer walking and prayer Marches are used to confront the enemy and to push back and bind his power with praises and spiritual warfare songs. The concept is demons can’t stand praises to God so they flee. Don’t be so easily fooled.

Paul was confronted with a whole city given over to idolatry in Acts17, how does he deal with this situation? He did not go into warfare prayer against their main gods Zeus or Apollo nor bind their idolatry. He went into the synagogues and market place each day & it ended on Mars hill where he challenged all the philosophies of their day. He promoted scripture and reasoned to them with the teaching of Christ, specifically the resurrection something he knew they would have a hard time with. He challenged them to make a decision.

We do not see any verbal rebukes when the apostles entered a new city or had prayers of pulling down strongholds over cities, cultures, or religions. There is not even a hint of this type of teaching in the word.

Take for instance Paul who himself was a victim of a Satanic messenger (Thorn in the flesh 2Cor.12:8) This would have been the perfect time for him to exercise his spiritual authority over Satan. Instead he petitioned the Lord for relief. He did not rebuke the demon.

There is a true spiritual warfare but this and much of what we see with the New Apostolic Reformation, NAR is counterfeit and deceptive.

Educate yourself on these false techniques and have nothing to do with them.

07/11/2022

When what someone is teaching or doing doesn’t line up with God’s Word, we are commanded:

“by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict” (Titus 1:9).

We are told to “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (II Tim. 4:2).

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove (show them for what they really are) them.” (Eph.5:11).

The reason we must obey this command is to protect the young believers who just don’t know better yet and who are easily influenced by unbiblical teachings and practices that will damage their walk.

Some people say that “the truth can defend itself, and that there is no need to address falsehood.”This statement is not only unbiblical, but almost always leads to disaster. Jesus, Peter, Paul, John, and Jude all addressed error and falsehood. Real Apostles called out false teachers by name and exposed false doctrines, unlike much of these pseudo-apostles parading around today.

It is the mature believers who judge rightly.

Those who are spiritually mature, are those who have trained themselves by exercising their senses to discern between good and evil through the Word. Those who do not judge are infants still on the milk of the word (Hebrews 5). Many have not become mature so they are unable to tell the truth from error.

The fact is, if you’re not actively discerning, than you are already deceived. Discernment is a command for all believers, we’re all commanded to examine all things and test everything according to God’s Word!
