Today we celebrate the birth of our Mother 🎁 and it is indeed a gift to us, for she was born to be the Mother of the Savior and the Mother of all the faithful. Her life was prepared by God from the very beginning, full of grace, that she might say "Fiat" β€” "Let it be done to me" β€” and welcome the Son of God into the world.

She is Mother of God because the Child she bore is truly the eternal Son of God. And she is our Mother because, from the Cross, Jesus gave her to us. Her birthday reminds us that God prepares His servants long before they are born β€” and that every grace begins with His faithful love.

Every person we meet is a gift from God. Some come as blessings β€” they encourage, support, and reveal His goodness, reminding us we do not walk alone. Others come as lessons β€” they challenge and stretch us, refining our hearts and deepening our trust in Him.

In our vocation and mission, both are needed. Blessings fill us with gratitude; lessons shape us for service. Both form us into the faithful witnesses God calls us to be. Every encounter β€” blessing or lesson β€” is God loving us into holiness.
