We attend youth groups, we serve God, we pray the Rosary, we attend Mass regularly, and we read and open our Bibles, but what have we become?
Has it touched us from the inside? Have we become more Christlike? Has anything truly changed within us?
Because if not, then we need to go back and ask ourselves why we are doing these things. Is it to earn Godโs love and blessings? To fulfill obligations? Or simply to do many things โfor Godโ? We must purify our intentions. Because the essence of worship, service, and sacrifice is a holy life.God is not impressed by how busy we are in ministry if our heart is far from Him.
This is not about doing many things for God. It is about giving God the greatest glory, our holiness of life. This is the essence of every sacrifice and every act of thanksgiving. Let us go back to the core of why we are doing all this. Let it be for God alone, and for the sanctification of our souls. Because a sanctified life, as the saints say, sanctifies others. And how can we sanctify others if we are only worshipping and serving God out of mere obligation and routine, yet not allowing them to touch us and sanctify us?
