Loving and faithful God,
as we come before You on this last day of the year,
we pause in silence and humility,
aware that time itself is a gift from Your loving hands.
From the first day of this year until this final hour,
You have walked with usโ
in moments of joy and laughter,
in days of struggle and uncertainty,
in seasons of hope and in times of tears.
We thank You, Lord, for the gift of life,
for every sunrise we were allowed to see,
for every breath that sustained us,
for every chance to love, to serve, and to begin again.
Thank You for our families and friends,
for our communities, our work, our daily bread,
and even for the ordinary moments that quietly shaped our days.
All that we have and all that we are come from You.
As we look back on the year now ending,
we also ask for Your mercy.
Forgive us, Lord, for the times we failed to love,
for the words we spoke that wounded others,
for the opportunities to do good that we ignored,
for the prayers we neglected and the faith we took for granted.
Cleanse our hearts of bitterness, pride, and fear,
and heal the memories that still weigh us down.
We entrust to You, O God, all that this year containedโ
our successes and our failures,
our answered prayers and our unanswered questions,
our gains and our losses.
For those we loved and lost this year,
we place them in Your gentle embrace.
For those who continue to sufferโ
the poor, the sick, the lonely, the broken, and the forgottenโ
be their comfort, their strength, and their hope.
As we stand at the threshold of a new year,
we place the days ahead into Your hands.
We do not know what the future holds,
but we trust in You who hold the future.
Grant us wisdom to choose what is right,
courage to face challenges with faith,
patience in trials,
and hearts that remain open to Your will.
Teach us, Lord, to live the coming year with deeper faith,
greater compassion, and renewed commitment to goodness.
Help us to be instruments of peace in our homes,
signs of hope in our communities,
and witnesses of Your love in the world.
May the new year be a time of healing, reconciliation, and growthโ
not only in our plans and dreams,
but in our relationship with You and with one another.
We place our trust in You, O Lord,
yesterday, today, and forever.
Thank You for the year that has been,
and for the year that is yet to come.
May everything we do begin and end in Your love.
We offer this prayer with grateful hearts,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
