HOMILY | Saturday in the 4th Week of Easter
Gospel: John 14:7–14

Jesus tells Philip: “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” And He also says: “Whoever believes in me will do the works that I do.”

These words are not only about who Jesus is—they are also about how we are called to live.

Allow me to share three simple moral lessons.

First—Live a life that reflects God.

If Jesus reveals the Father, then as followers of Jesus, we are also called to reflect Him in our daily lives.

People may not read the Bible, but they will read our lives. In the way we speak, in the way we treat others, in the way we make decisions—can people see something of God in us?

When we are honest, kind, patient, and compassionate, we make God visible in the world.

Second—Stay close to God in everything you do.

Jesus says: “I am in the Father and the Father is in me.”

This reminds us that a good life is not just about doing the right things; it is about staying connected to God.

Without prayer, we become easily tired, irritated, and lost. But with God, even ordinary tasks gain meaning and strength.

Make time for prayer. Listen to God in silence. Bring Him into your daily work and decisions.

Third—Do good and make a difference.

Jesus says: “Whoever believes in me will do the works that I do.”

Faith is not just something we believe; it is something we live.

We are called to continue the work of Jesus: to help those in need, to forgive those who hurt us, and to serve without expecting anything in return.

A life of faith is a life that blesses others.

My dear friends, let us ask ourselves today: Do people see God in me? Am I truly connected to Him? Am I doing good in the lives of others?

If we live these three lessons, then our faith becomes real, alive, and meaningful.

Thank you to our brother for his gift to Christ within our community.

News from Tainan!
This Friday, April 17th 2026 was not only the birthday of fr John Savio. It was also the day for the election of our Provincial Prior. The Brothers chose fr Justin Lee CSJ for another term of three years. We are very thankful to fr Justin for accepting to shepherd the flock! Thanks to God for his guidance during this process of election.
This Saturday morning, fr Justin took his oath of fidelity and service in the chapel of Tainan Priory.
In the morning session, our chapter welcomed the council of the Oblates of St John. Ms EmEm Talaboc presented the new charter of life of the Oblates while Sr Claire of Jesus and Jomel and EmEm Vicente joined online. The Oblates live a consecration as lay people orgnized in fraternities, in various states of life, following the spirituality of the Community of St John.
