“Kung murag wala na kay masandigan… remember: naa kay Inahan nga pirmi motabang.”

May 6 — First Wednesday of the Month 🙏
A special day for devotees of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

In the Philippines—especially here in Cebu—Wednesdays are sacred for many Catholics. It’s the day we pause, pray, and return to a Mother who never gets tired of listening.

The devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help reminds us of something deeply human:
Even in fear, uncertainty, and silent battles… we are never alone.

The icon itself tells a story—
The Child Jesus clings to His Mother.
Just like us, when life feels overwhelming.

Through the mission of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists), this devotion became part of Filipino faith and culture—
a weekly rhythm of surrender, hope, and quiet miracles.

How to live your First Wednesday devotion:
✨ Attend the Novena & Holy Mass
✨ Offer your prayers, worries, and intentions
✨ Spend a few quiet moments in prayer
✨ Reflect: How can I trust God more today?

Because this devotion is not just about asking…
It’s about trusting.
It’s about coming home.

🙏
“Mother of Perpetual Help, kindly look upon me in my need.
Obtain for me strength in trials, courage in difficulties,
and a heart that always trusts in God’s providence. Amen.”

You didn’t go through all that pain… just to stay buried in it. ✝️🌅

Easter Sunday in Cebu is a reminder that no matter how heavy the past feels,
you were never meant to stay down.

Because sometimes, the deepest wounds come from the people closest to us.
The betrayal. The silence. The pain.

Even Jesus experienced it.

But Easter tells us this:
your story doesn’t end in the dark.

From suffering came salvation.
From death came LIFE.
From being buried… came RESURRECTION.

“He is not here; He has risen.”
Luke 24:6

So whatever you’re carrying today…
this is your sign to rise again. 🙏

Not all betrayal comes from enemies… sometimes, it comes from the people closest to you.

This Holy Week 2026, we remember the Last Supper—a powerful moment in the Bible where Jesus Christ sat at the table with His disciples, including the one who would betray Him.

He knew.
And still, He chose love.

In this season of Lent, reflection, and Visita Iglesia, we are reminded:
Even when trust is broken, we can still choose grace.
Even when hearts are hurt, we can still choose faith.

🙏 Take a moment. Reflect. Pray.

Today is Palm Sunday 🌿 — and it’s the perfect day to begin this journey.

Palm Sunday marks the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem—where He was welcomed with palm branches, symbolizing victory, peace, and hope.

But beyond the celebration, it reminds us of something deeper:
faith is not just about praise in good times… but staying true even in the hardest moments.

Here in the Philippines, especially in Cebu, we carry this tradition through blessed palms (lukay)—woven, kept, and cherished in our homes as a sign of protection and devotion.

As we begin Holy Week, may this be a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect.

Good Friday is considered "good" because it commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, which Christians believe was a sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins and the redemption of humanity. Despite the somber events of Jesus' crucifixion, Christians view it as "good" because it is through this sacrifice that they believe salvation was made possible. Additionally, it marks the beginning of the Easter weekend, which culminates in the celebration of Jesus' resurrection on Easter Sunday.
