So come as you are. Let Him hold what’s too heavy for you. Let Him speak truth where lies have settled. Let Him love you even in the places you’re ashamed of.

Because He already does.

Making the Right Decisions

It’s not always easy to do the “right” thing. Sometimes you’re forced to choose between standing for truth or yielding to the pressure of friends, colleagues, or even family who would rather you make compromises. But there is no “gray area” when it comes to right and wrong. Someone once said, “I’d rather stand with God and be condemned by the world than stand with the world and be condemned by God.” You either belong to Jesus or you don’t – it’s that simple. If you're a person of integrity, you can’t pick and choose each day whether or not you’ll do the right thing. Be aware that making decisions which are pleasing to God won’t always make others happy. We’re told in Matthew 10:22, “And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” There is nothing that is worth missing out on heaven – absolutely nothing! That’s why it’s important to spend time with God every day! Make sure you have a healthy diet of “spiritual food,” which includes being careful what you eat, what you watch, what you listen to, what you read, and the people you hang around with. Choose godly friends – ones that will draw you closer to Jesus, not pull you away. C.S. Lewis wrote, “What draws people to be friends is that they see the same truth. They share it.” Distance yourself from people who try to influence you for evil purposes; they are not your real friends. You can love them, forgive them, want good things for them, and still move on without them. Instead, surround yourself with people who inspire you, love and respect you, pray for you, and protect you. Surround yourself with people who want to see you grow closer to Christ. Temptation does not come from God, but comes from our own sinful desires.

It’s in the Bible,

James 1:13-15, NKJV.

“Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

What led to Satan's sin, rebellion, and downfall?

" Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor.” Ezekiel 28:17

You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” Isaiah 14:13,14.

The Holy Spirit is as important as the Father and the Son in the Godhead. He announces the coming of another Counselor, the Spirit of Truth, and His important role in our salvation.

It is the Holy Spirit who is tirelessly wooing us to turn to God and away from our sinful ways. We need to be baptized with the Holy Spirit all the time to renew our minds. He longs to dwell in us. He directs our thoughts, purifies our hearts, gives us peace, and develops in us a Christ like character.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. --Psalm 51:10-11, NKJV
