Happy Sabbath Summary: Lesson 7 — A Portrait of Love
Memory Text: “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” — 1 Corinthians 13:13

The main message of the lesson is that true Christian love is essential to our relationship with God and with others. Paul taught the Corinthians that spiritual gifts, knowledge, faith, and service have little value if they are not motivated by love.

Sunday – The Essentialness of Love
Love is more important than spiritual gifts or achievements. Without love, even great acts of faith and service are meaningless.

Monday – What Love Does
Biblical love is patient, kind, compassionate, truthful, hopeful, and enduring. It looks for the good in others and remains faithful during difficulties.

Tuesday – What Love Does Not Do
Love is not jealous, boastful, arrogant, rude, selfish, easily angered, unforgiving, or happy when others fail. Christians should allow God to remove these attitudes from their lives.

Wednesday – A Portrait of Jesus
Jesus is the perfect example of agape love. His life demonstrated patience, kindness, truth, endurance, forgiveness, and concern for others. The more we focus on Jesus, the more His love can be reflected in us.

Thursday – Faith, Hope, and Love
Faith and hope are essential while we live in this world, but love is eternal. This is why Paul says that among faith, hope, and love, the greatest is love.

Main Lesson
Love is not merely a feeling—it is a way of living. True Christian love is demonstrated through our words, actions, patience, forgiveness, kindness, and concern for others. When we allow the Holy Spirit to develop God's love in us, we become more like Jesus.

Key thought:
❤️ If God is love, then the goal of every Christian should be to receive His love and share it with others.

📖 1 Corinto 12 — Nagkalainlaing Gasa, Usa ka Lawas

Si Pablo nagtudlo nga adunay nagkalainlaing espirituwal nga mga gasa, apan ang tanan naggikan sa usa ka Espiritu—ang Balaang Espiritu.

Mga pananglitan sa mga gasa:

pulong sa kaalam
pulong sa kahibalo
pagtuo
gasa sa pagpang-ayo
mga milagro
pagpanagna
pag-ila sa mga espiritu
lain-laing pinulongan
paghubad sa mga pinulongan

Pangunang leksyon:
Dili pareho ang gasa sa matag magtutuo, apan ang tanan adunay bili. Sama sa lawas nga adunay daghang bahin, ang iglesia adunay daghang miyembro nga adunay nagkalainlaing gasa.

❤️ 1 Corinto 13 — Ang Gugma Labaw sa Tanang Gasa

Dinhi makita ang pinakabantog nga pagtudlo ni Pablo bahin sa gugma.

Bisan pa og:

makasulti kita sa mga pinulongan,
makapanagna kita,
adunay dakong pagtuo,
makahatag kita sa atong mga kabtangan,

kung wala kitay gugma, walay pulos ang atong mga buhat.

Ang gugma:

mapailubon,
maluloton,
dili masina,
dili mapahitas-on,

dili dali masuko,
dili malipay sa daotan,
nagmaya sa kamatuoran,
nag-antus ug naglaum.

Pangunang leksyon:
Ang gugma mao ang husto nga paagi sa paggamit sa tanang espirituwal nga gasa.

Mao nga ang 1 Corinto 13 dili lang usa ka chapter bahin sa romantic love. Sa konteksto niini, kini mao ang tubag ni Pablo sa problema sa iglesia sa paggamit sa espirituwal nga mga gasa nga walay husto nga gugma.

Ang gasa sa pagpanagna

Ang pagpanagna adunay dakong papel sa pagpalig-on, pagdasig, ug paghupay sa mga magtutuo.

Pangunang Mensahe

Ang Kristohanon gitawag sa paghigugma sa Dios sa tibuok kasingkasing ug paghigugma sa isigkatawo sama sa kaugalingon. Kon ang tanang desisyon gihimo alang sa himaya sa Dios ug sa kaayohan sa uban, malikayan nato ang idolatriya ug mahimong matinud-anong sumusunod ni Cristo.

urged them to imitate his example because his life reflected Christ (1 Cor 4 vs.14-21). To what extent can modern preachers, leaders and servants of God address known sins of church members in a spirit such as that demonstrated by Paul?

When spiritual leaders model humility, integrity, and servant leadership rather than seeking power or prestige, it becomes possible to point out sins gently as did Paul while maintaining unity (1 Cor 4 vs 13). Rather than presenting impressive credentials, Paul points to hardship, persecution and sacrificial service as the marks of authentic apostleship (2 Cor 11 vs.23–28; Col 1 vs.24).

Paul presents a consistent message that unity in the church is rooted in Christ alone (1 Cor 1-4). Divisions arise from pride, allegiance to personalities, worldly thinking, and self-promotion. Unity is restored when believers centre their identify on the cross and attribute ministerial success to God alone. Next week we study about the sin in Corinth.
