“My daughter, you must not let August 6 pass, the day of the Feast of God.”
A look back at this event and at how the project of building a small chapel took shape in the life of Liliane, who was miraculously healed through the intercession of St. Charbel.
Faithful to St. Charbel and to his request, Liliane will have a Mass celebrated on August 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in the small chapel she had built in her garden at the request of St. Charbel. This date, which was chosen at his request, has since become an occasion for a special celebration each year.
In 2018, St. Charbel asked Liliane Razzouk, who had been miraculously healed, to build a chapel in her garden in Kherbé, a small village above Jbeil. Liliane recounts how the Holy Eucharist became the heart of this event. She wanted to make the inauguration of the chapel a day of celebration by organizing a religious ceremony, but she was unsure which date to choose. It was St. Charbel who helped her determine the date during one of her visions. Liliane remembered his words clearly and, above all, wanted to honor them:
“My daughter, you must not let August 6 pass, the day of the Feast of God.”
The inauguration of the chapel therefore took place on August 6, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., once its construction had been completed—under extremely difficult financial and logistical conditions, it should be noted, in a country that was still in a state of war.
That day, shortly before 6:00 p.m., a storm was sweeping through the village. The bishop and the guests wondered how they would proceed if the unpredictable weather conditions continued. But barely seven minutes later, against all expectations, the wind suddenly stopped. The clouds cleared, and the sky once again became a dome of light above the garden. The ceremony was finally able to take place peacefully, in prayer and in the presence of the guests.
In his humility, St. Charbel did not wish for this event to be celebrated on his own feast day, but rather on the Feast of God, a feast of great symbolic importance. The Feast of Corpus Christi, or Feast of the Blessed Sacrament, celebrates none other than the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. It was a way for him to step aside, as he always does, before the greatness of God.
A stunning and prophetic miracle?
An episode that foreshadowed what was to come and clearly pointed the way.
On May 7, 2021, construction of the chapel was nearing completion. In Annaya, the Sunday Mass of Pentecost had just ended. Liliane was walking down the steps of the basilica with her husband and her young daughter, Clarita, when she noticed pieces of consecrated hosts on the ground.
She immediately rushed over and carefully gathered them, kissed them, and placed them gently in a handkerchief before carefully putting them in her bag.
Later that day, at the time of the Rosary, she opened her bag to take out her rosary. The handkerchief fell to the ground and, to her great surprise, Liliane found three perfectly intact hosts inside, without any broken pieces.
Deeply troubled by what had happened, she quickly confided in the monks of Annaya and recounted the miraculous episode to them in every detail. This experience strengthened her determination to make the imminent completion of the chapel not merely an accomplishment, but an event and, beyond that, a true testimony.
Since her healing, Liliane has regularly experienced visions of St. Charbel. The story of the chapel's construction is a profound testimony of love and gratitude to the Lord, to the Virgin Mary, to whom she had been devoted since childhood, and to St. Charbel.
