BEFORE THE WORLD AWAKENS: A MORNING PRAYER WITH MARY| Early this morning, as the first light gently broke through the silence of the day, our aspirant brothers gathered together in prayer, lifting their voices in the chanting of the Morning Prayer. Their young voices filled the community with a peaceful and prayerful atmosphere, a beautiful way to begin this special day dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Today, we joyfully celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, when the Church celebrates the truth that Mary, at the end of her earthly life, was taken body and soul into heavenly glory. Her Assumption reminds us that our earthly journey is not the end. We are created for something greater: communion with God and eternal life with Him.
For our aspirant brothers, this celebration carries a special meaning. As they continue their journey of discernment and formation, Mary stands before them as a model of a life completely offered to God. Her βyesβ was not simply a word spoken once, but a lifelong response of faith, trust, humility, and obedience.
Like Mary, our brothers are also learning to listen to Godβs voice, to recognize His invitation, and to respond generously. Their morning prayer is more than a daily exercise, it is a reminder that every vocation begins with listening. Before we can serve God, we must first learn to hear Him.
The chanting of the Morning Prayer in the quietness of the early morning also reminds us that vocation is nurtured in prayer. It is in moments of silence, community prayer, Eucharistic celebration, formation, and daily sacrifices that a young man slowly discovers what God is asking of him.
May Mary, assumed into heaven, accompany our aspirant brothers in their journey. May she teach them to say βyesβ to God even when the path is not yet clear, to remain faithful when challenges come, and to place their future completely in the hands of Divine Providence.
May she also inspire all of us to renew our own fiat, our personal βyesβ to God, in whatever vocation and mission He has entrusted to us.
Mary, Our Mother and Model of Vocation, pray for us.
May our morning prayer always lead us closer to Christ, and may our lives become a continuous prayer of thanksgiving, service, and love.
Happy Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary!
