Hey Friends,

In August of 2012, we were blessed to take a trip to the island of Mindanao in the Philippines to help build a church and minister to the Mamanwa tribal group. In that short two weeks, we fell in love with the people and their incredible culture. We have longed to return to the Philippines since then, and the Lord has opened a door for us to serve there for a year beginning in August

of 2013! This door has been opened by way of an organization in the Philippines called Ministries to Christian Nationals (MCN). For over 20 years MCN has been evangelizing and training local Filipinos for ministry in their villages and cities. The Lord is calling us to serve this organization in the areas of basic administration and oversight of the Tribal Children’s Literacy Program. Because of prejudice and the low economic status of the Mamanwa people, many of the children do not have an avenue for education. TLCP is designed to address this very basic need helping children get into public schools. We will be staying at the MCN base in Cebu while making monthly trips to Mindanao. We will also have the opportunity to serve and encourage MCN missionaries throughout the Philippines as well as in Cambodia and Indonesia. We need people like you to commit to monthly giving, a onetime gift, or becoming a prayer partner. As you can imagine, a trip like this has many different expenses including flights, housing, food, insurance, travel from island to island, etc. Please pray and ask the Lord to see what part you can play in this work He wants to do in the Philippines. Hey everyone, I know it's pretty early your time right now, but we we just wanted to let you know we were just hit by a bad thunderstorm. Our street is flooded, and many homes. Water is pouring out from one of the homes right next to us. Praise God we are up high!
Please pray for families that are very uncomfortable right now due to their homes being a bit wrecked. As we write, it's beginning to rain again.

Update on what's been going on since the church was built in the village of Gupitan...
1. 15 families have come down out of the mountains to make their homes in this village.
2. So far, 7 new families have already started attending Pastor Pipito's church!!!!!

We have a wonderful praise report. MCN director Roger Tompkins came out of surgery without any issues! He is awake and talking showing very quick recovery. The surgeon believes he got every bit of the tumor and will know if it is cancerous in a few days. Thank you so much for your fervent prayers. May He be glorified!

Hey Everyone,

For two weeks the director of the organization we are with has had moments where he felt light headed, severe headaches, and loss of balance. We took him to the hospital where an MRI revealed he had a mass in the right frontal part of his brain and edema.

His wife flew in from the U.S. last week and they left for Washington on Friday to get a biopsy and to have the surgery. Please pray for Roger and Jan Tompkins as they hear the results and undergo this difficult surgery.

We serve a great God and rest in the future He already has in place. May He be glorified through this.

It is such an honor working with the director of MCN. He is such a God fearing man who has pioneered an amazing missional ministry here in the Philippines.

The Lord called us here to serve MCN in any and every area there is a need. Since we got here we have been shadowing the director on many of his tasks. We will eventually take over these tasks to lighten the massive load he bears.

MCN is a Filipino missionary sending organization. For the past couple weeks we have been working here at the base in Cebu in the area of accounting and finances in order to ensure that these missionaries have what they need on a daily basis, and can remain out in the field. MCN has sent out 40 missionaries from the Philippines into unreached tribal villages that are here, as well as the unreached places of Indonesia and Cambodia.

We will also be working with a missionary couple who oversees the Tribal Childrens Literacy Program. This program helps educate children of the Mamanwa tribal group who previously had no means of education. Every month we will take an overnight ferry to the island of Mindanao to visit these missionaries who are far into the mountains and bring them the necessary things they need in order to be able to run this program and minister effectively.

We are excited for what the Lord will do in and through us. Thank you for all your love, prayers, and financial support. May He be glorified!
