1 King 19:4
“The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.” So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God.”
He prepares us for the long journey we will take in our lives because the journey of faith is not easy. That is why we need strength that comes from the Lord, so we can continue walking with Him for a long time. Despite Elijah’s surrender, he continued his journey for forty days and forty nights. In following the Lord, he was not abandoned or left to give up.
The Lord will be with us in our journey through life. So let us always remember to fight, to stand up, and to never give up. The Lord said that we still have a long way to go because we have great and many purposes to fulfill for Him. Instead of asking the Lord for rest, let us ask Him to give us new strength to rise and continue.
Let us also remember that rest is not always the answer to whatever we are going through personally, whether struggles or pain. Let us always keep in mind that the Lord is the reason we are still moving forward until now.
That is why we should take a step forward every single day. Through our daily devotions, we receive the strength we need to move closer to the Lord and to take another step toward Him. Let us not stop moving forward. Instead, remember the things we have already overcome and realize that we are still standing today because of the strength the Lord gives us each day. so “Arise and Eat, be strengthened by the Lord, and keep walking—your journey is not over yet.”
Remember, “We have come a long way, but we still have a long way to go.” — just persevere
and just keep holding on to His promises.
ARISE AND EAT AND I WILL GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH YOU NEED, I WILL SUSTAIN YOU FOR THE JOURNEY YOU WILL WALK THROUGH
