Divorce is presented as a solution that would give people a second chance to succeed in marriage, but does real time data prove this? In the USA where divorce has been legal for a long time, Divorce leads to more Divorce.
According to the 2022 World Population Review, the Divorce rate actually increases after the first divorce, from 45-50% divorce rate among first marriages [1] it increases to 60% among 2nd marriages, and astounding 73% among 3rd marriages. [2]
After your first divorce, your second marriage has a higher chance of failure, and that rate increases after each divorce. Divorce does not prevent failed marriages, it actually increases it as the data show, and with it, more families would be broken. [3]
The Philippine Constitution mandates the government to strengthen the Filipino family. Legalizing Divorce, as data shows, is not an effective way of fulfilling that mandate. It certainly is the opposite.
