ᴄᴇʟᴇʙʀᴀɴᴛ ᴀɴᴅ ᴘʀᴇᴀᴄʜᴇʀ:
𝚁𝚎𝚟. 𝙵𝚛. 𝙹𝚘𝚜𝚎𝚙𝚑 𝙰. 𝚍𝚎 𝚕𝚊 𝙿𝚛𝚘𝚟𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚒𝚊

The coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost reminds us that God does not gather people by making everyone the same — He gathers us by making us one in Him. In the first reading, people from different nations and languages understood the apostles because the Spirit speaks the language of the heart. Fear turned into courage, silence into proclamation, and ordinary people into witnesses of Christ.

St. Paul reminds us that although we have different gifts, ministries, and personalities, the same Spirit works in all of us. The Church is not built only by priests, religious, or leaders, but by every baptized person who allows the Spirit to move through their life. No gift is too small when offered for the good of others.

In the Gospel, the disciples were hiding in fear behind locked doors, yet Jesus entered anyway and greeted them with peace. That same Jesus still enters our locked hearts — our worries, disappointments, and doubts — not to condemn us, but to breathe His Spirit upon us. Pentecost is a reminder that the Holy Spirit does not only comfort us; He also sends us. We are called not to remain behind closed doors, but to become instruments of peace, forgiveness, and hope in the world.

ᴄᴇʟᴇʙʀᴀɴᴛ ᴀɴᴅ ᴘʀᴇᴀᴄʜᴇʀ:
𝚁𝚎𝚟. 𝙵𝚛. 𝙽𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚛 𝙿𝚎𝚛𝚙𝚎𝚝𝚞𝚘 𝚃. 𝙿𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚛

Today’s readings remind us that although Jesus ascended into heaven, He did not abandon His people. In Acts of the Apostles, the disciples witnessed Christ returning to the Father, but before leaving, He entrusted them with a mission—to become His witnesses to the ends of the earth. The Ascension is not an ending, but the beginning of the Church’s mission to proclaim God’s love to the world.

In Letter to the Ephesians, St. Paul prays that our hearts may be enlightened so we may recognize the hope and power we receive from Christ. God calls us not to remain fearful or silent, but to become people who reflect His truth, mercy, and compassion in our daily lives.

Then in the Gospel from Gospel of Matthew, Jesus commands His disciples: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” This mission continues today, especially in how we communicate with one another. As we celebrate World Communications Day, the readings remind us that communication is more than speaking—it is about sharing truth, hope, kindness, and the presence of Christ. In a world filled with noise, division, and misinformation, we are called to use our voices, actions, and even social media responsibly to spread faith, unity, and love.

Christ’s final promise gives us courage in this mission: “I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Wherever we go and however we communicate, may we always bring others closer to God.

Today’s readings remind us of a love that is faithful, selfless, and always present — a love we often experience through our mothers. In the Gospel, Jesus promises that He will not leave us orphaned, but will remain with us through the Holy Spirit. In many ways, mothers reflect this comforting presence through their constant care, guidance, and sacrifices for their children.

The first reading shows how the Holy Spirit brought joy and healing to the people. Mothers, too, become instruments of peace and encouragement within the family, quietly nurturing love and faith at home. St. Peter reminds us to live with gentleness and hope, even in difficulties — a virtue many mothers faithfully embody every day.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we thank God for the gift of mothers and all those who show a mother’s love. Their patience, strength, and unwavering care remind us of God’s enduring love that never leaves us alone.

In Acts of the Apostles 6:1–7, the early Church faces tension, yet instead of division, the apostles respond with wisdom and service. They appoint others to care for the community, showing that every role in the Church matters. Mission grows when service is shared.

In First Epistle of Peter 2:4–9, we are reminded that we are “living stones,” built upon Christ, the cornerstone. Each of us has a place and purpose—to proclaim God’s goodness and live as His chosen people.

In the Gospel, Gospel of John 14:1–12, Jesus assures His disciples: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” He calls us to trust in Him and to continue His works through faith.
Together, these readings remind us that the Church is alive when we serve, stand firm in Christ, and trust in Him as our way. We are not just followers—we are called to be active witnesses of His love in the world.

The readings this Sunday invite us to hear and respond to the voice of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, who calls each of us by name. In the Gospel, He says, “I came so that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). A vocation begins with listening to that voice and trusting where it leads.

In the Acts of the Apostles, Saint Peter proclaims the risen Christ, and many hearts are moved to conversion. Their response reminds us that every vocation starts with an openness to God’s call and a willingness to follow.
In his letter, Saint Peter points to Jesus Christ as the Shepherd and Guardian of our souls, who calls us to faithful and self-giving love, even through sacrifice. This is the heart of every vocation—priesthood, religious life, marriage, or dedicated lay service.

On Vocation Sunday, we pray for hearts ready to recognize the Shepherd’s voice, for courage to respond generously, and for more laborers to serve in the mission of the Church. May we remember that a vocation is not merely a personal choice, but a loving response to the One who calls us to fullness of life.

The readings for today remind us that Christ is present even when we fail to recognize Him.

In the Gospel of Luke (24:13–35), the disciples only recognize Jesus in the breaking of the bread, showing that He is revealed in simple, sacred moments like the Eucharist. In Acts of the Apostles, Peter boldly proclaims this truth, transformed by his encounter with Christ. And in First Epistle of Peter, we are reminded that we are redeemed through Him.

Like the disciples, may we open our hearts to recognize Christ walking with us—and be ready to witness to others once we do.
