CELEBRATING THE FEAST DAY ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY!

"A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head." — Revelation 12:1

With joyful hearts, the Third Order of Carmelites – Mater Purisima Community (Cantilan) joins the entire Parish Community in celebrating the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our beloved patroness!

As Carmelites, we look to Mary as our Mother, Queen, and Beauty of Carmel—the ultimate model of faith, humility, and complete surrender to God's will. Today, as she is taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, we are reminded of the hope and promise of eternal life that awaits us all.

May our Blessed Mother continue to wrap her mantle of love and protection over the people of Cantilan, guiding our community closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.

A Grace Filled Beginning to the Rite of Reception to the Novitiate Brothers in Carmel🙏✨

With hearts full of gratitude and joy, the Mater Purisima Community in Cantilan, Surigao del Sur, brothers namely Br. John Cris B. Delito, TOCarm, Br. Peter Jhon Trugillo, TOCarm, Br. Justine Angelo A. Espinola, TOCarm, and Br. Diether James Albert Pradel, TOCarm celebrates a beautiful event in our spiritual journey the Rite of Reception to the Novitiate.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who accompanied, supported, and prayed with us during this sacred celebration:

To Rev. Fr. Leonardo O. Quizada, Jr., DCT, for presiding over the Holy Mass and beautifully administering the rite.
To Rev. Fr. Antonio Galela, DCT, our beloved Parish Priest, for his unwavering support and pastoral approval.
To Br. Arnold Alcala, TOCarm (National Prior) & Br. Ruel Santos, TOCarm (National Formator and former National Prior), for their leadership and presence.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Rite will be presided by Rev. Fr. Dennis Rey C. Ortojan, Parochial Vicar, on July 05, 2026 at the Immaculate Conception Parish, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur

A Blessed Easter to the Carmelite Family
As we celebrate the glorious Resurrection of our Lord, may the light of the Risen Christ illuminate the hearts of every member of the Third Order of Carmelites, the wider Carmelite Family, and all the faithful. Just as our journey through the desert of Lent has led us to the empty tomb, may this Easter season renew your commitment to a life of prayer, community, and service. In the spirit of the prophet Elijah and the silence of Mary, let us rejoice in the triumph of life over death, finding in the Resurrection the ultimate source of our hope and the strength to witness to God's love in our daily lives.

May the joy of the Risen Lord be your constant companion, transforming your trials into triumphs and your sorrows into songs of praise. As Carmelites, we are called to be "gardeners" of the soul; let the grace of this Easter Sunday water the seeds of faith within you, blossoming into works of mercy and a deeper union with the Divine. We stand together in the radiance of the Paschal mystery, united in the prayer that the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds. Alleluia! Christ is risen indeed!

Charity in Action: TOC Mater Purisima Community Reaches Out to Catupgas🤎

The spirit of Carmelite service was truly alive today! Our Third Order of Carmelites (TOC) - Mater Purisima Community of Cantilan recently journeyed to Catupgas, Lanuza, Surigao del Sur, for a day dedicated to charity, community, and compassion.

Inspired by our call to live in allegiance to Jesus Christ, our members stepped out of the cloisters of our daily routines to share blessings with our brothers and sisters in Nurcia. Whether it was through shared resources, a helping hand, or simply a prayerful presence, the goal was clear: to be the hands and feet of Christ in the peripheries.

A Heartfelt Thank You
This mission would not have been as seamless or successful without the spirit of collaboration. We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to:
• Mr. Brian Alipao, Parish Youth Apostolate Coordinator of Agsam, Lanuza, Surigao del Sur your guidance and tireless assistance were instrumental in making this outreach possible.
Thank you for your leadership and for bridging the gap between our communities. Your dedication to the youth and the Church is a true inspiration!

Charity in Action: A Day of Prayer and Visitation
The Third Order of Carmelites - Mater Purisima Community recently embarked on a mission of mercy, bringing the comfort of prayer and the warmth of community to five of our brothers and sisters in Carrascal, Surigao del Sur.

True to the Carmelite spirit of seeking the face of God in all things, our members visited the homes of the sick to offer spiritual support and companionship. It was a humbling reminder that while we often find God in the silence of prayer, we also meet Him in the suffering of our neighbors.

May they feel the mantle of Our Lady of Mount Carmel wrapped around them, providing strength in their journey toward recovery. As Saint John of the Cross said “we will be judged on love alone."
