Saint Michael the Archangel Parish Church is an imposing, Spanish-colonial edifice that can bring fame—and the faithful—to the quiet town of Camiling, Tarlac. After their old parish church burned down some ten years ago, the people of Camiling town in Tarlac never wavered in their belief that someday, they would again have a proper place of worship. Time came when their efforts to raise funds enab

led them to start building a new church, near the ruins of the old one. But spiralling costs and insufficient planning would only serve to bring their dream farther away from their grasp. Ramos Jr., decided to approach one of the province’s most famous sons – former ambassador and current San Miguel Corporation (SMC) chairman and chief executive officer Eduardo Cojuangco Jr. Cojuangco and his wife Gretchen have, after all, built and donated three churches in select parishes over the years: St. Rose Church in Paniqui, Tarlac; Queen of the Most Holy Rosary church in Miranda, and St. Michael the Archangel in Pontevedra, both in Negros. Thus, the Saint Michael the Archangel Parish Church of Camiling was built. With a total floor area of 2,200 square meters, the church features a plethora of intricately designed stained glass windows depicting, aside from Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, the angels.
