Text: Exodus 6:1-8
Topic: God's Message Behind Crisis
Theme: Ways of God's Message Behind Crisis
Exodus 6:1-8
New International Version
6 Then the Lord said to Moses, โNow you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country.โ
2 God also said to Moses, โI am the Lord. 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the Lord I did not make myself fully known to them. 4 I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they resided as foreigners. 5 Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.
6 โTherefore, say to the Israelites: โI am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. 7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.โโ
INTRO:
This text was the message of God to Moises. Looking back on Chapter 5, it states about the prayer of Moises seeing his people (Israelites) hardships as slaves of Egyptians.
MAIN POINTS:
1. God's way to make distinction between His people (v1)
โฃ๏ธLike Israelites, we are also His people, and we are distinct, differently and specially recognized, and His plans for us are distinct and good.
โฃ๏ธAt this moment, during this pandemic, He only wants us to be consistent in the process of change and transformation
2. God reminds us with His Faithfulness (v5-6)
โฃ๏ธHe is the ONLY LIVING GOD who's faithful to His Words and Promises
โฃ๏ธAt this moment, during this pandemic situation, He only wants us to draw nearer unto Him
3. God reminds us how powerful He is. (v7-8 )
โฃ๏ธOur God is the most powerful God. None can compare and none can stand.
โฃ๏ธAt this moment, during this pandemic situation, He only wants us to trust more and deeper unto Him.
This crisis is God's way of reminding us a lot of things, reminders that really affects our spiritual life.
God bless everyone!
