SJHOMP recently visited Sitio Lamon for another meaningful Gift-Giving and Feeding Program, making them our 5th sitio beneficiary. The outreach may have been simple, but the happiness shared throughout the day made it truly special.

To everyone who helped make this outreach possible, especially our generous donors, sponsors, and volunteers, thank you for your continuous support and kindness. Because of your willingness to help, we are able to reach more communities and create moments that bring joy and encouragement to others. May God continue to bless your good hearts.

MAY 28 | FEAST OF JESUS, THE ETERNAL HIGH PRIEST

The Feast of Jesus, the Eternal High Priest invites us to reflect on the sacred mission of Christ as the one true Priest who offered Himself completely for the salvation of humanity. Unlike the priests of the Old Covenant who repeatedly offered sacrifices in the temple, Jesus became the perfect and eternal sacrifice through His suffering, death, and resurrection. He did not offer gold, animals, or material giftsโ€”He offered His very life out of love for us.

Jesus is called the Eternal High Priest because His priesthood never ends. Even now, He continues to intercede for us before the Father, pouring out mercy, grace, and forgiveness upon all who seek Him. Every time the Holy Mass is celebrated, we are reminded of Christโ€™s eternal sacrifice made present in the Eucharist. The priest at the altar acts in the person of Christ, pointing not to himself, but to Jesus, the true and eternal Priest.

This feast is also a powerful reminder to pray for priests around the world. They carry a sacred responsibilityโ€”to preach the Gospel, administer the sacraments, guide souls, and serve Godโ€™s people with humility and love. Priests are human and face struggles, weaknesses, and discouragements, which is why they deeply need our prayers and support. Through them, Christ continues His work of healing, teaching, and sanctifying His Church.

In todayโ€™s world where many people feel lost, wounded, or spiritually empty, Jesus remains our faithful High Priest who never abandons His flock. He understands our pain, hears our prayers, and invites us to return to Him with trust and confidence. No sin is too great for His mercy, and no soul is beyond His love.

As we celebrate this feast, may we grow deeper in our appreciation for the Holy Eucharist, the priesthood, and Christโ€™s unending love for His people. Let us draw near to Jesus with grateful hearts and allow Him to transform us through His grace.

Jesus, Eternal High Priest, guide Your priests in holiness and lead us all closer to You.
Amen.

Today we celebrate the memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church

"O God, Father of mercies, whose Only Begotten Son, as he hung upon the Cross, chose the Blessed Virgin Mary, his Mother, to be our Mother also, grant, we pray, that with her loving help your Church may be more fruitful day by day and, exulting in the holiness of her children, may draw to her embrace all the families of the peoples. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever."

On this blessed Pentecost Sunday, our parish joyfully celebrated the Reinstitution of the Different Parish Ministries โ€” a beautiful reminder of our shared mission to serve God and His people through the gifts and talents entrusted to us by the Holy Spirit. As each ministry renewed their commitment to serve with faith, humility, and love, the celebration became a meaningful witness of unity and dedication within our church community.
May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and strengthen all our ministry members as they carry out their responsibilities in service to the Church.

Let this renewed commitment inspire each one of us to become more active instruments of Godโ€™s love, peace, and compassion in our parish and beyond.

Another meaningful day was shared as SJHOMP visited Sitio Cagpi, Brgy. Daligan for our Gift-Giving and Feeding Program. More than the meals and simple gifts we prepared, what made the outreach truly special were the moments of joy, laughter, and connection we experienced with the children and families in the community. Seeing their genuine smiles reminded us that kindness, no matter how simple, can make a big difference in someoneโ€™s day.

To our generous donors, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who extended their help in any way, thank you for being part of this mission of love and service. Your support continues to bring hope and happiness to different communities, and we are deeply grateful for your open hearts and generosity. May God bless you a hundredfold for all the goodness you share with others.

TOMORROW, ORDINARY TIME CONTINUES

Tomorrow, after the joyful celebration of Pentecost Sunday, the Church returns to the rhythm of Ordinary Time beginning Monday, May 25, 2026.

The second season of Ordinary Time in the 2026 liturgical calendar runs until November 28, 2026, covering Weeks 8 to 34 before the beginning of Advent.

Though it is called โ€œOrdinary,โ€ this season is far from unimportant. The word comes from the Latin ordinalis, meaning โ€œnumbered,โ€ as the weeks are counted in order. During this time, the Church reflects on the public ministry of Christ โ€” His teachings, miracles, compassion, and call to discipleship.

After receiving the fire of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, we are now sent forth into mission. Ordinary Time reminds us that holiness is lived not only during great feasts and celebrations, but also in the quiet, ordinary moments of daily life. In our prayers, sacrifices, acts of kindness, forgiveness, and faithfulness, Christ continues to work within us.

The liturgical color for Ordinary Time is green, symbolizing growth, hope, and spiritual renewal. As the Church journeys forward, may we continue growing in faith and bearing the fruits of the Holy Spirit in our everyday lives.

Pentecost Sunday is Coming!

This May 24, 2026, the Church celebrates the great feast of Pentecost โ€” the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and filled them with courage, wisdom, and fire. What once were fearful hearts became fearless witnesses of Christ.

Pentecost reminds us that God never leaves His people empty. The same Holy Spirit who strengthened the Apostles is the same Spirit guiding us today in our struggles, vocations, healing, and everyday battles.

Maybe you feel tired.
Maybe your faith has become silent.
Maybe your heart has been wounded by disappointments, losses, or unanswered prayers.

But Pentecost is a reminder that God can breathe life again into weary souls.

The Holy Spirit still moves.
The Holy Spirit still heals.
The Holy Spirit still calls.

As we prepare for Pentecost Sunday, may we pray:
โ€œCome, Holy Spirit. Renew my heart. Strengthen my faith. Lead me closer to Christ.โ€

May this coming Pentecost not just be another Church celebration, but a personal encounter with the fire of Godโ€™s love.

Through the spirit of compassion and service, the SJHOMP family successfully conducted its Gift-Giving and Feeding Program for the families and children of Sitio Dancalan, Brgy. Pantat, our third sitio beneficiary. This activity became a beautiful reminder that simple acts of generosity can bring comfort, joy, and hope to the hearts of many, and truly, it was heartwarming to witness the happiness and gratitude shared throughout the outreach program.

We're grateful to all our generous sponsors, donors, volunteers, and supporters who made this outreach possible. Your kindness and unwavering support made this program possible and meaningful for the community of Sitio Dancalan. May the Lord continue to bless your generous hearts abundantly.
